I'm just here to spread the news of the Playtest coming to an end. This was our first shot at the Playtest feature, and it was a blast. We'll definitely be back with another one soon.

Playtest - LAST CALL!

Once again, we have to start this announcement with a BIG thank you. More than 5,000 players chose to participate in our playtest, which is overwhelming for us. We've received so much feedback that is helping us shape this diamond. Also, to everyone who swung by at gamescom: Thank you as well! It was unbelievably exciting to witness you (the heroes) playing our game live. The feedback was tremendous.

[h3]Let's get straight to the point: the Playtest ends this Sunday, September 8![/h3]

With that being said, you still have around 3 days left to unleash your powers against Asgard's henchmen. But of course, we wouldn't be ourselves if we didn’t share a few updates on what's to come in the future. You'll be able to try some of this during upcoming playtests. Yes, you heard right—there will likely be at least one more playtest, if not more.

During the playtest and gamescom, we received a lot of feedback regarding the available progression mechanics and systems. We felt the same way, and we're already working on a new, additional meta-progression mechanic: Codename 'Warpaint.





So much about the visual goodie, here's some more information about our plans for Asgard's Fall (the stuff we're currently working on):

  • New meta progression mechanic ('Warpaint')
  • More Abilities
  • Ability Evolutions (Codename "Ability Melting/Forging"
  • At least one new character (with the option to have more; we've got so many ideas)
  • Additional World Activities
  • New collectable resources
  • All Nine Realms available
  • Proper Difficulty Systems
  • Compendium
  • Twitch Integration (we'd love to have this, currently checking doability)


We can't wait for you to jump into the next playtest! But before that happens, we need some time to implement new features and integrate your feedback into the gameplay. We'll announce the next playtest as soon as possible and keep you updated on our progress right here on Steam and our Discord.

THE PLAYTEST IS LIVE! Come in and shine.

Again, here are the biggest changes we've made:

  • New engine (self-explanatory)
  • New playable hero: the Huntress
  • New hero-based skill trees (replaces previous elemental-based ones)
  • New playable Realm: Muspelheim (hot hot hot)
  • Realms have been increased in size (3x bigger)
  • New Web of Wyrd (all-new dynamic skill system during a run; replaces the previous rune carving system)
  • Both new and updated abilities
  • New enemies and bosses
  • Overhauled enemy attack pattern mechanics
  • Added random world buffs that pop up during a run


Important note: currently a run is limited to 10 minutes since this build is also being used for our gamescom appearance. So, for the full experience later on, runs will again be set to 20 minutes.

Meet the new face of Asgard's Fall!

Fellow heroes!

Thank you for your patience, it's been a while. But, we're pretty sure the wait was worth it ... because we've been cooking something for you!

There are two major points we'd like to address today, so let's get started.


As we've already mentioned before, we've been busy recreating the 1.0 (Origins) version of the game in a new engine. The game is now running smoothly with Game Maker instead of Unity; even though there've been some challenges, we're extremely happy with the current build. Hopefully, you'll like it as much. (Balancing issues aside ːsteamhappyː - feeling overpowered yet?)

The thing is, there's probably just bits of the initial Origins DNA left, because the game has changed immensely. Even Origins veterans will probably think it's a different game they're playing. We can't wait to hear your thoughts and feedback!

So, let's talk some of the biggest changes we've made:

Yes, you got that right! tl;dr: The Playtest will start on August 19 already. (Exact time TBD; you'll notice.)

Since your feedback is invaluable and plays a vital role during the development of Asgard's Fall, we came up with the idea of making use of Steam's Playtest feature. It's basically a win-win situation. You get to play the latest build, and we get helpful feedback in return. Boom!

This can also be seen as somewhat of a compensation for everyone that is not able to attend gamescom this year. Because, we will be there with the new Asgard's Fall build in the bag. If you're there, make sure to swing by and say hi.

  • Implementing your feedback (bug fixing, Quality of Life improvements, etc.)
  • Adding new playable characters with their own skill trees
  • Adding all of the Nine Realms
  • Adding new abilities
  • Adding new mechanics and systems
  • More enemies, more bosses, more everything
  • Who know's what else we've got up our sleeves... Stay tuned!
