The Playtest is LIVE!

Fellow Godslayers,

Our second playtest has just gone LIVE! Once again, it's an open playtest with no restrictions—everyone can join. We would be incredibly happy if you chose to be part of it.

Play the heck out of the Asgard's Fall playtest and share any feedback you come up with. We want to hear everything! Let us hear your thoughts, comments, or improvement suggestions either right here on the Steam discussion boards or on our Discord Server where you can directly chat with us.

We already shared some detailed information in our previous announcement, so let’s copy and paste it again to make sure everyone’s on the same page:

[Please note]: We had to reset any progress you might have made during the previous playtest. We kindly ask for your patience and understanding.


  • Warpaint: An all-new meta progression system.




  • Pigments: A new currency can now be gathered and used to unlock patterns within the Warpaint system.
  • Jotunheim: Set foot on the frozen plains of Jotunheim and face new enemies, including a challenging boss mob.




  • Blood Sacrifice: A new difficulty settings mechanic is now available for you to test.
  • Hero Leveling: Adjusted the way a Hero/Heroine gains levels.
  • Immolation Aura: Added a new skill to send your foes straight to Hel—let them burn.


  • Enemy AI: Reworked the behaviour of enemies.
  • Ability Hit System: We’ve altered the way enemies take damage from abilities. Previously, enemies were immune to damage when hit in quick succession.
  • Seidr Points: Points for the character skill trees no longer drop from bosses. Instead, they are gained by leveling up as part of the new Hero Leveling mechanic.

Next Playtest is imminent!

We know it’s been a while since we last shared some news, but we wanted to make sure we had something cool to share instead of just teasing you with snippets. So, here we are!




Another playtest is happening VERY soon (did I hear next week, perhaps?). And the good news is you can already sign up to get notified as soon as it goes live!


  • Warpaint: An all-new meta progression system.

I'm just here to spread the news of the Playtest coming to an end. This was our first shot at the Playtest feature, and it was a blast. We'll definitely be back with another one soon.

Playtest - LAST CALL!

Once again, we have to start this announcement with a BIG thank you. More than 5,000 players chose to participate in our playtest, which is overwhelming for us. We've received so much feedback that is helping us shape this diamond. Also, to everyone who swung by at gamescom: Thank you as well! It was unbelievably exciting to witness you (the heroes) playing our game live. The feedback was tremendous.

[h3]Let's get straight to the point: the Playtest ends this Sunday, September 8![/h3]

With that being said, you still have around 3 days left to unleash your powers against Asgard's henchmen. But of course, we wouldn't be ourselves if we didn’t share a few updates on what's to come in the future. You'll be able to try some of this during upcoming playtests. Yes, you heard right—there will likely be at least one more playtest, if not more.

During the playtest and gamescom, we received a lot of feedback regarding the available progression mechanics and systems. We felt the same way, and we're already working on a new, additional meta-progression mechanic: Codename 'Warpaint.





So much about the visual goodie, here's some more information about our plans for Asgard's Fall (the stuff we're currently working on):

  • New meta progression mechanic ('Warpaint')
  • More Abilities
  • Ability Evolutions (Codename "Ability Melting/Forging"
  • At least one new character (with the option to have more; we've got so many ideas)
  • Additional World Activities
  • New collectable resources
  • All Nine Realms available
  • Proper Difficulty Systems
  • Compendium
  • Twitch Integration (we'd love to have this, currently checking doability)


We can't wait for you to jump into the next playtest! But before that happens, we need some time to implement new features and integrate your feedback into the gameplay. We'll announce the next playtest as soon as possible and keep you updated on our progress right here on Steam and our Discord.

Playtest is live!

THE PLAYTEST IS LIVE! Come in and shine.

Again, here are the biggest changes we've made:

  • New engine (self-explanatory)
  • New playable hero: the Huntress
  • New hero-based skill trees (replaces previous elemental-based ones)
  • New playable Realm: Muspelheim (hot hot hot)
  • Realms have been increased in size (3x bigger)
  • New Web of Wyrd (all-new dynamic skill system during a run; replaces the previous rune carving system)
  • Both new and updated abilities
  • New enemies and bosses
  • Overhauled enemy attack pattern mechanics
  • Added random world buffs that pop up during a run


Important note: currently a run is limited to 10 minutes since this build is also being used for our gamescom appearance. So, for the full experience later on, runs will again be set to 20 minutes.
