In this patch, we fixed an issue where VP9 codec video decoding was failing for some users, leading to the screen being completely black when starting the game when videos should be playing. On WIndows, the VP9 codec is not longer used, we use H264 instead.
To verify that you have this patch, the version number in the top right corner of the main menu should show: Steam-2025-5-10-96281
