Update notes for Version 2025-5-15-96896

- Different crash fixes

- Render optimization for small distant objects. User can tweak this optimization through the 'View Distance Quality' setting in the options, which could give a good performance boost on Steam Deck, and to players with an older generations CPU or a lower core count.

- Fixed a bug preventing selection of the journal with a mouse click

- Improved keyboard key mapping

Savegame recovery, repeating audio, missing DLCs, optimizations, and more!

Version: Steam-2025-5-13-96567

- Improved automatic recovery from corrupted savegames. From now on, the game will automatically replace any corrupted savegame with the most recent backup it saved. User can expect a loss of progression from only a few seconds to a few minutes if for some reason a savegame ends up being corrupted. Note that the game save backups of your savegames in %localappdata%\RevengeOfTheSavagePlanet\Saved\SaveGames , where you can rename files containing the name 'backup' if you want to manually recover to an older save state.
- Fixed an issue where the game would not detect DLCs if the user pressed the invite button too many times after confirmation on the welcome screen.
- Fixed an issue where an Alta box audio would repeat over and over and over and over again.
- Different cutscene VFX optimization for a more stable framerate during cutscenes.
- Optimized Quasadron IX's grass density.
- Optimized Mesmertoxin CPU update
- Fixed a crash when lowering the screen sync interval too much.
- Fixed a crash when using the grapple anywhere tool.
- Fixed different crashes when starting or during online sessions.

Got a blank screen? Here's colorful screen for you!

In this patch, we fixed an issue where VP9 codec video decoding was failing for some users, leading to the screen being completely black when starting the game when videos should be playing. On WIndows, the VP9 codec is not longer used, we use H264 instead.

To verify that you have this patch, the version number in the top right corner of the main menu should show: Steam-2025-5-10-96281
