Hey everyone,

We've got a brand-new update for you! This patch brings numerous improvements, bug fixes, and optimizations to make your experience even smoother. Here are the key changes:

๐ŸŽ๏ธ Vehicles

Vehicles no longer shine excessively bright in tunnels.
Cars in parking lots now spawn correctly and no longer on top of each other.
Fast traveling to "Hospital Apoloya" will no longer cause vehicles to clip into the ground.

๐Ÿค– AI & Interactions

NPCs will no longer block each other due to faulty interaction locations.
Dialogue options with drivers are now always correctly initialized.
The "Talk" action is no longer arbitrarily replaced by mission titles.
Vending machines no longer break all interactions after dispensing an item.

๐ŸŽฏ Missions & Story

Fixed various mission-related issues, including:
"Catching the Dragon": Bobby can no longer be arrested without providing evidence.
"Ambush on the Delivery": Officer Tim is no longer "alive" after dying in a shootout.
"Blown Cover": Proper camera focus in dialogues and correct mission marker for reporting.
"It's Getting Personal": Alfred is no longer mistakenly mentioned in dialogues.
"The Prisoners' Escort": Lucia now walks properly instead of crouching toward Jameson.

Aiming now responds immediately without delay.
The crosshair resets correctly after dying while crouching.
Reloading now works even if the clip is full (without upgrades).
Reinforcements no longer disappear suddenly during shootouts.
Dead enemies stay dead โ€“ no more standing up after being defeated.

๐Ÿšฆ Traffic Stops

Added a return option to the "Tests" section in driver dialogues.
Items in the trunk can now be picked up for investigation on the first button press.
The pause menu can no longer be accidentally opened in observation mode.

๐ŸŽฎ Optimizations & Performance

Reduced NPC vehicle count to improve performance and prevent excessive traffic jams.
Optimized player position check to ensure they are standing on solid ground.
Reduced sky update frequency to improve performance.
Stability improvements for restoring story progress from savegames.

๐Ÿ–ฅ๏ธ UI & Quality of Life

Improved map navigation: A selection wheel now appears when multiple icons are close together.
Mission and HUD objectives now indicate whether they have failed.
Fixed the "Keen Eye" icon scaling in the action menu.
Accident sketch background now properly aligned.
Virtual cursor now correctly sized on high-DPI displays.

The new Highway Police Simulator update is here and it brings many improvements!

From numerous gameplay bug fixes to optimized environments and new equipment like flashlights and tasers, there is a lot to discover.

Gameplay & Missions
  • A Meeting with Terror:
    • Travis' car does not appear anymore in the spots the player needs to check.
  • Aftermath:
    • Fixed a bug where Rush Angel did not spawn and could not be raced against.
    • Rush Angel race can only take place at night now.
    • Fixed a issue with loading into the mission re-triggering a dialogue.
  • Ambush on the Delivery:
    • Fast traveling is no longer possible when having to drive to the rest stop under time pressure.
  • At the End of it All:
    • Removed clone of the Chief from cutscene.
    • Added an additional cutscene.
    • Fixed a situation where Nataly will talk via radio while standing next to Marsh.
  • Live Action Heist:
    • Dead guy is no longer moving.
    • Fixed a bug where an injured criminal would not be shown correctly during dialogue.
    • Fixed issue with being stuck with a gun when loading into the mission.
    • Fixed issue with blocked main progression when the main character dies and leaves the location afterwards.
  • In Search for Clues:
    • Fixed an issue with writing reports no longer possible after repairing the vehicle.
  • Smiley:
    • Towed car no longer has engine running and radio on.
    • Fixed a bug where Nataly would end up on the roof of the police station after dialogues.
  • The Distraught Farmer:
    • Improved the explanations and directions the game provides.
  • Up Above:
    • Fixed issue with mission not loading correctly from savegame.
  • Your Everyday Race Track:
    • Nataly will no longer be stranded on the race track.
  • The Game Begins:
    • The evidence image "Rug" now correctly shows a rug again instead of a door lock.
  • Shootout Calls:
    • Aborting the mission will clear up enemies correctly now.
  • Accidents:
    • Improvements were made to positioning of debris, evidence, etc.
    • Fixed a bug where the accident sketch would extend beyond the frame of the police PC.
    • NPCs will no longer be on the phone while talking to the player.
    • Increased variability of selected spawn points for procedural accident missions.
    • Improved item spawning in procedural accident missions, resulting in better distribution along the road.
  • Tutorials:
    • Added a tutorial about the morality system.
  • Fixed a bug where an NPC could not be arrested and police backup would not arrive.
Performance & Stability
  • Consoles: Fixed an issue that could cause crashes when starting the application.
  • PS5: Fixed a bug that caused area-of-responsibility restrictions to incorrectly assume the main character was outside the area.
  • Fixed a bug where purchased upgrades would not get saved after closing the game.
  • Fast Travel:
    • Going to Qaluuk Hospital no longer causes infinite loading screens or a damaged vehicle.
    • Fixed a cause for infinite loading screens when going to Apoloya Hospital.
  • Optimization:
    • Improved loading of character portrait images, which no longer cause a lag now.
    • Reduced hitches when characters play back fixed animations.
    • Improved several animations.
    • Non-accepted radio calls will no longer cause a "mission failed" notification.
    • Reloading at Glasshouse no longer spawns player under the map.
  • Savegames: Improved reliability of restoring checkpoints in missions.
Environment & World
  • Added pedestrians.
  • Added set dressing to a shootout location.
  • Added trailers on some rest stops and parking lots.
  • Adjusted some positions of donut vendors to better fitting locations.
  • Challenge board is now lit up at night.
  • Corrected advertisement signage at some gas stations.
  • Fixed some display issues with direction signage.
  • Evidence on the whiteboard in the station is now fixed by magnets.
  • Fixed a flickering wall element in the basement of the police station.
  • Fixed placement of some fire hydrants.
  • Grass no longer grows on parking lots in Meris Hill.
  • Guiderail posts will now cast shadows.
  • Improved decoration of Meris Hill.
  • Improved the transition from roads to the ground.
  • Small vegetation like grass (meadows) and shrubs (desert) has been added on PS5 and Xbox Series X.
  • Improved vegetation fidelity on PS5 and Xbox Series X to be on par with the PC experience.
  • The driveway gate at the station is opening earlier now.
  • Improved runtime cost of ambient soundscape.
  • Fixed errors with textures for environmental assets like stones and haybales.
  • Police PC:
    • Fixed overlapping buttons on toolbar.
    • People in database are no longer only born in September.
    • People no longer own prison buses.
Vehicles & Traffic
  • Roads: Fixed patches of missing road geometry
  • Broken Down Vehicles:
    • Appear in correctly varying colors again.
    • A sick driver will now give the correct amount of points.
    • Cars now spawn correctly while driving with the motorcycle.
  • Fire Truck: Fixed the positioning of brake discs.
  • Motorcycle: Fixed shaking of camera while driving.
  • Helicopter:
    • Tweaked speed.
    • Fixed a bug where helicopter missions could not be accepted/were accepted automatically.
  • Traffic: Fixed a crash that could happen randomly, especially when using fast travel.
  • Racing challenges: Fixed a bug where the camera would freeze after completing a racing challenge.
  • Fixed a visual bug with the hood of NPC vehicles during engine inspections.
  • Vehicles:
    • Added drivers.
    • Added more bluelight sequences to select from.
    • Grant Bulls in parking lots now have license plates.
    • Improved logic when trying to exit a car that has its doors blocked.
    • License plate lights are no longer permanently on.
    • License plates do not read "default" anymore.
    • Regular traffic now stops correctly for the player and the player vehicle.
    • The Apello Triumph pick-up truck has been added to the game and is now driving on the streets of Caminora.
    • Vehicle damage no longer prevents entering the vehicle.
    • Vehicles cannot shine brightly in tunnels anymore.
    • Vehicles will not get teleported off the highway anymore when driving close to guard rails.
    • Fixed a situation where the driver character could become invisible when rotating the camera at the right moment.
    • Fixed an issue which could lead the vehicle to suddenly stop moving if you drive really fast into a city.
Tools, Weapons & Combat
  • A flashlight has been added for the player and Nataly
  • New sound for new animation of shotgun reload.
  • Fixed a situation where the camera, while aiming and falling, would glitch into the main character.
  • Shooting Challenges:
    • Two new challenges have been added, available at the training facility opposite the police station.
    • Stationary targets are no longer called enemies.
  • Shootouts:
    • Dead enemies no longer try to shoot.
    • Added police reinforcements at the end of shootouts.
    • Reinforcements have individual names now.
    • Targets are counted visually in the mission description for shooting missions again.
  • Taser:
    • Taser has been added as an additional equippable weapon, unlockable through the tech tree.
    • Added non-lethal "Takedown" popup hint when taking out an enemy.
  • Weapons: Crosshair will now indicate whether the target is in weapon range.
Characters & AI
  • Characters do not flicker anymore during the arrest sequence in the police station basement.
  • Characters are better positioned during dialogues.
  • English & German lip synchronization works consistently now.
  • Fixed the positioning of Rush Angels piercings.
  • Improved performance of clothing materials.
  • Fixed a visual bug where the eyes of the player and Nataly were visible too sharply through vehicles windshields.
  • NPC AI:
    • Improved NPC behavior during dialogues.
    • NPCs can now open and close doors on their own.
    • NPCs do not get stuck in the DUI test animations anymore.
  • Partner Nataly:
    • Nataly is aiming properly now.
    • She no longer jumps at the start of conversations.
    • She now gets back to her feet on her own after critical situations.
    • She now holds her gun correctly while shooting.
    • She will now be avoided by traffic.
    • Her hair no longer clips through the helicopter uniform helmet.
UI & Controls
  • Improved the wardrobe clothing menu by simplifying the menu options from 3 to only 2.
  • Increased the options to pause or end dialogues with NPCs at any point.
  • Fixed incorrect camera behavior when switching from first to third person perspective.
  • Map:
    • Added legend to the map.
    • Changed behavior of map markers for missions.
    • Now easier to select markers which are near each other.
    • GPS navigation on the map is only shown until reaching the threshold of a search area.
    • Added overlay of morality status for areas on the large map
    • Fixed several usability issues with pathing in the maps
    • Now allows selecting which specific objective to follow for navigation.
    • Now shows objective information when hovering over a target.
  • UI Improvements:
    • Added button for toggling morality overlay.
    • Improved character customization screen.
    • Improved radial menu usability.
    • Improved the usability of the garage menu by e.g. simplifying options, separating the tech tree from vehicles and reworking their inspection feature.
    • UI now properly switches state when delivering an arrested driver to the station.
    • When choosing response options in dialogues the list no longer moves around when playing with mouse.
    • Improved Minimap UI North Icon for rotating Minimap.
    • Fixed Garries name in dialogues, as it was shown incorrectly
    • Fixed a bug where the amount of collected donuts was not displayed correctly.
    • Fixed typo in notification when player tries to enter a helicopter in wrong clothes.

the new update is in testing now. In this video you can see some of the new improvements. Additionally we of course fixed a lot of bugs.

By the way:
Dear PC Players, if you have performance issues please make following steps:
  1. Make sure your pc fullfill the minimum requirements. If not and you would like to try it out, please make the next steps and and expect best performance. Please!
  2. Please deactivate stuff like Nvidia Overlay etc.
  3. Please make sure that the game is running on your ohysical graphic card and not on your on board graphic card. We still didn't find out, why sometimes the drivers takes the false graphic card for the game. If you have any ideas please contact us.

You will find the version 1.0.1.18779 in your game. That means you are up to date.

This major update should not only fix bugs, but also improve the game and add new content or feature.
