New protection gear | Dev-Blog#19

Welcome everyone to Dev Blog #19!

The Video:

In this short video you can see a sandbox prototype of the player putting on helmet and vest. This serves as protection in shootouts.

What does this video mean?

bleeding -> testing -> stable

This means that this feature is working in our "bleeding" version of the game. Our bleeding version means, that we are testing it at the moment. If the tests are successful and our QA greenlight it. This will be merged to the main game. By now vest and helmet are in the game.

What else is going on?

We are working on improving the gameworld. A lot of features, improvements and assets are slowly coming together and our game designers add this to the whole "picture". 🙂
Yesterday I saw sidewalks prototyping and improved materials for mountains. Don't know when our artists are satisfied with the stuff to show it here.
On Tuesday our game designer was digitally joining the English voice over recordings (which are work in progress).

Demo, Gamescom, PaxWest and Let's Plays... and now?

We got a lot of feedback from players who could play the game on gamescom and PaxWest and we also watched the Let's Plays to get a feeling for how players are currently playing the game.
And some of you perhaps already saw the differences between the gameplay from first Let's Plays (also from us or our publisher) and the current Let's Plays. The game is running smoother, there are less glitches.
We were satisfied seeing people playing the game and figuring out what was going on in the accident. But we also see some potential to improve the game 🙂

Release Date

You are always asking for it. I am sorry for misscommunication in our early communication. The release date is set for 2024 and I can't say more today. In the upcoming week, we have some meetings in which we will set the final release date and after that we will ofc communicate it with you.
We and our publisher Aerosoft try to release the game as soon as possible, but also want so ensure to have enough time to deliver the game as good as possible!

I would like to thank you for your support!
We are very happy about the interest in the game!
THANK YOU!

Gameplay News: Illegal Items | Dev-Blog#18

Dear Community,

Today we want to show you some of the gameplay stuff. These are some suspicious objects that can be found within the game. „Suspicious object“ is an important clue when investigating accidents and conducting traffic stops. In the following, we will describe more: Please do not forget to wishlist the game!

Finding alcoholic beverages, especially empty ones, should be an indicator that the assumed owner may be intoxicated. In accidents as well as traffic stops, this is a strong clue to perform a field sobriety test.

Finding a firearm is not neccessarily dangerous - the owner may be aggressive, but the weapon may as well be registered and totally legal to carry. It’s your job to check that the weapon isn’t from an illegal source and carries a serial number. It is also important to check that the owner has the right permits. Checking the police record of the owner will also give you important clues if there may be any illegal activity going on! And always be on the lookout, as when there is one firearm, there might be more… You better not get caught in a shootout in the middle of the street!

Finding narcotics on a driver, in a vehicle, or near an accident scene should always be an indicator that the assumed owner may either be involved in criminal activities or was driving under the influence of them. Narcotics are illegal to carry though, so an arrest may be necessary!

That concludes our little excursion into illegal items. Did we miss anything? What would you like to see as well? On another note, we’ve also been at the PAX West in Seattle last weekend. Many thanks to everyone who stopped by to take a look at the demo, and especially all the nice feedback that we got from you!

Gamescom & PAX | Dev-Blog#17

Dear Community,

due to the „Gamescom 2024“ event we couldn‘t post a lot of material during the last days. Simply because I was in Cologne for a whole week and after that I was in the US to show Highway Police Simulator at PAX West. That's why I couldn‘t prepare and post.
But now I am on my way back home and I would like to share some news.

The Aerosoft team built up a part of their public booth at gamescom exclusivly for Highway Police Simulator. A lot of people were caught by the American Police Car which was placed on our booth. We would like to thank everyone who was involved in the project.

We showed a small part of the game to players for the first time. I hope the players enjoyed it. We also gave away hwps caps to players.

So for me it was a very busy Gamescom, but I got some information from my dev team that I would like to share with you.

We are fixing bugs and polishing the game. We still have some time left until to release, but we would like to release the game as clean as possible. Although this is a short sentence, it includes a lot of work. It means that with every fix and every improvement in different regions the game gets better and better. We achieved better intergration of terrains and roads and we are going on polishing the game world. So we have different tasks for in different regions of the game development.

Gamescom demo footage | Dev-Blog#16

Dear community,

you wished to see more gameplay especially from the Gamescom 2024 demo. Here it is. This is a montage of a playthrough of the demo.
I would like to tell you more about what we've prepared for the demo, what are known features and which mistakes we made during recording.

[previewyoutube][/previewyoutube]

In the demo you can drive to and play a simple accident. Before you play it you have to drive to this accident and on your way, you perhaps want to take a look around. 😉
In the demo with every playthrough, a different "simple accident" will be created. It is limited, so from time to time the accidents which are created could be similar, but not exactly the same.
The demo accident is limited to two involved cars.
We did this limitation to show you a part of the game, but also let you to finish playing in around 15-20 minutes.
This video shows only a part of the demo gameplay. We cut out a lot of dialogues, some evidences, conclusions, driving etc..
Additionally in the final game there is not only more variety in accidents, there are also more accident gameplay features.
If you wonder "where's my gun"? We deactivated it due to the gamescom expo age rating regulations, so we can show the demo publicly and open.
You will encounter some bugs and issues in the video, but we are already on it :)

No sirens were recorded in the video. This is sad, because last time we got a lot of feedback from you and already changed the sirens sounds. So I think we will post the changes early September, so you can review it before release.
