It was quite a busy time for us - fixing bugs, going to conventions, enjoying the numerous streams, etc. But after a while it all slowed down again. So we finally took some time to enjoy life again. [/p][p][/p][p]And after we all had a good long nap, we sat down and made a list of things we still wanted to add to the game. You know, these small (and sometimes not so small) ideas, that we thought would be really fun or cool or weird, but where ultimately cut during development. [/p][p][/p][p]And then we made a plan on how to actually do this. So naturally we came up with this very official Roadmap™️ graphic: [/p][p][/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]The best part: UPDATE #1 - "NEW WAYS TO PLAY" will go live next week already, just in time for the Steam Summer Sale. While we won't spoil too much just yet, in this update we will add some things that quite a few people asked about. We hope you will have fun with the things we got cookin' and revisit Oda and their big ol' space ship once more. [/p][p][/p][p]For our own sanity we wont set any fixed dates for Update 2+3 yet. But we are actively working on further updates and will release them as soon as they are ready to go. Which will be sooner rather than later. [h3]💫 A Journey Into The Unknown 💫[/h3]

Dear Sproutlings 🌱,

On a sunny day about three years ago, we were sitting on a park bench in Berlin, spitballing random game ideas that we wanted to explore. Ideas that stuck with us and came back to us from time to time. One of them was fairly simple: What about a game where you are alone in space and you start talking to your plant?



This simple concept changed and transformed over time—as most game ideas do. Over time it grew into different forms; each of them could've been a proper game. From a narrative-driven comic game to a sci-fi survival sandbox (eat those hamburgers before you sleep, Oda!) and finally to the unique blend of genres that we have today.

But there were other parts of the concept that remained steadfast: A short journey through space. A mysterious ship that you explore on your own terms. Systemic gameplay. Time as a key factor of your journey. The main character is Oda, a young person with a very firm turquoise bun.

[h3]💫 A new perspective 💫[/h3]

Fast forward to today: After two years of development and the help of so many people, our first game Space Sprouts launched two days ago.

Space Sprouts is the first commercial game we developed from start to finish. These last few days we could slowly let go of the game development tunnel vision and just watch. Watch people having genuine fun. See players experimenting with the games systems, wondering, exploring. Uncover all the weird little details we put in the game. It felt strange yet wholesome, seeing our little game existing out there, in the world, all on its own.



Over the past two years Space Sprouts grew into a game that we love and deeply care about. A game that combines the vision and sensibilities of everyone who worked on it. A game with an expansive solar punk spaceship, with 100 achievements and a unique world to explore. And also with a black hole that you can throw stuff into. If you like.

We’re in the final stretch of development, and Space Sprouts is getting its last big improvements before release! Every room in the ship is receiving a visual makeover and recoloring, bringing a fresh coat of paint to the entire world. But that’s not all—we’ve also added new memories, edge cases, and hidden Easter eggs for players to discover. Keep your eyes open! 👀

[h3]🖥️ Revamped UI: Result Screens, Memories & Map[/h3]
We’ve made major improvements or fully rebuilt some of the game’s UI to enhance the experience:
- New animated result screens 🎉 – After each run, you’ll now see what you discovered in even cooler ways.
- Improved Memory UI & popups 🧠 – Track new discoveries, recalled memories, and reconstructed ones more easily.
- New Map UI 🗺️ – Get a clearer overview of where you’ve been and where to go next.
- Quality-of-life improvements ✨ – Features like pinning memories allow for better run planning and tracking.



[h3]🎨 Improved Room Colors[/h3]
We updated all room colors to give each room its own distinct identity. Both for better orientation and because it just looks nicer. We had this on our to-do-list since forever and now we finally had the time.



[h3]✨ All New Key Art[/h3]
The more defined Space Sprouts got over time the more we needed new key art that represents the game better. While the old key art is dear to our hearts (it accompanied us on many conventions last year) we are so happy to reveal this all new detailed illustration of Oda being maybe a bit too curious. We hope you like it as much as we do!
