Cat God Ranch's Animal Wiki Ep. 1

Hi everyone, we hope you're enjoying the Cat God Ranch demo so far! We've been hearing a lot of feedback from players about the different animals you can find in the ranch, and so, we're starting a new dev log series: the Animal Wiki!

In this first episode, we'll introduce you to the four main animal families in the ranch. Three are already in the demo, with the fourth family to come. We'll dive into the different characteristics and commonalities these families share, so you can better understand the game too~

Let's get acquainted with all our furry friends in the ranch!

Ungulates is just a fancy word for hoofed animals! The cows, sheep, rhinos, and reindeer you see in Cat God Ranch are all members of the hoofed family. In nature, these critters don't stop grazing and reproducing, and they can get very populous in the right conditions. In Cat God Ranch, it's the same concept - if you build up your herd of hoofed animals, they can earn you a steady stream of gold for your tribute!

Carnivores are one of the most diverse families both in nature and in the game. In Cat God Ranch, the carnivore family consists of friendly members like sheepdog and pandas, as well as tricky foxes and crafty hyenes, and hungry snow leopards and tigers that are always on the lookout for Ungulates to consume. Out in the wild, carnivores are well-adapted for survival since they're at the top of the food chains, and we've brought those tricks of the trade into the game. If you like an unconventional approach to playing Cat God Ranch, adding carnivores to your ranch is a must.

Cat God Ranch has a ton of birds, from common backyard fowl to more atypical avians like flamingos and peacocks. You've heard of the saying "birds of a feather flock together", right? Just like real life, the same applies in the ranch, where members of the Bird family enjoy flocking together. Keep enough of them and they'll start rapidly reproducing and increasing your gold income stream, too. But if you find your flock getting a little too overwhelming, just thin them out by introducing an eagle.

The Pika family is not yet in the game, but will be launching soon! As you may have surmised from this family's name, these tiny critters are small and not particularly noticeable. But like in real life, they shelter in the ground and reproduce rapidly. Pika family members find safety in numbers, so give them enough of the right Terrain in your ranch and watch your income skyrocket!

These are the four animal families that you'll either meet, or soon meet, in Cat God Ranch! We have more animals coming, so stay tuned to the next episode of Animal Wiki~
