Since the launch of the game on Steam we’ve had the opportunity to attend the PC Gamer Weekender and more recently we were at EGX Rezzed where Microsoft demo’d the game on the Xbox stand! It was another great opportunity to show off and talk about the development of the game through Steam Early Access :-)



Now, for those patch notes…

Access to Corrupt Portals - Puzzle Saves
This update brings a more efficient way of revisiting levels and finding the Corrupt portals. Now, when a player has received the Corrupt Power, they will no longer have to redo puzzles in each level to find the portal. Many puzzles will be now be completed and locked entrances will be open. In some levels, this will also make it quicker to find missing PEMOs.

Improved Mechanics
We’ve now increased the speed of the Phase, Play, Destroy and Corrupt hand powers which will give more precision, more noticeably when targeting smaller or moving objects.



Optimisation
Major optimisation pass across entire game to increase general FPS and reduce spots with FPS drops.


Minor Bug Fixes and Gameplay Improvements
Fixed a rare issue when the game would crash selecting a mirror in the Waiting Room.
Fixed an on-going issue with the statues sometimes not accepting the right order in Church.
Fixed some minor occlusion issues in various areas.
Fixed some minor snagging issues.

Soul Axiom 1.1 Update



Soul Axiom Launch

Hi everyone! We hope you’ve all enjoyed the 1.0 version of the game and we’d like to thank you all once again for your awesome contribution during the Early Access development. Since the launch, we’ve taken the game to the PC Gamer Weekender (where we had a fantastic response from gamers) and we’ll also be featured at EGX REZZED in just a couple of weeks’ time in London. If you’re attending the show, feel free to hunt us out and say hi!

This update will be going live for Windows, Mac and Linux.

Optimisation
Major optimisation pass across entire game to increase general FPS and reduce spots with FPS drops.

Linux Graphical Issue
While we are continuing to resolve the graphical issues on Linux builds, we have implemented a temporary fix. The problem is the 'Bloom' feature we use in-game creating large white graphical effects with certain Linux drivers. Linux users now have the option to turn off the Bloom effect in the settings. We would just like to thank you all for your patience on this issue and we will continue to find a solution to the underlying problem.

Minor Bug Fixes and Gameplay Improvements
Stopped a sound constantly playing when picking up a red cube in Apartment.
Fixed a sorting issue with the skeletons in the Church crypt.
Added SFX to the meteor in Corrupt Apartment.
Fixed an issue causing the player to get stuck when jumping off the PEMO ledge in Mansion.
Fixed an issue causing the player to get stuck in the curtains near the end of Hospital.
Added an X-Hand icon on the console in Museum.
Made the Desert Temple hint more visible.
Added a “locked” message to the tutorial portal after the Monorail.
Added a “Level progress will be lost” message to the exit portals in levels.
Fixed an issue causing you to get stuck in the Corrupt portal room in Space Station.
Fixed minor collision issues throughout.

Game Update

We also managed to squeeze a minor game update today ironing out a few details. The update is for Windows, Mac and Linux and will go live tonight at 18:00 GMT.

* Fixed a major bug with sounds droping out randomly on some levels

* Reduced some frame rate issues in various places
* Fixed a rare issue with corruption sound duplicating
* Fixed some culling issues when some props would disappear at a certain viewing angle.
* Fixed an issue in the ending so you can’t get stuck near the broken glass.
* Fixed the first PEMO so it shows you it’s been picked up.
* Fixed an issue causing the Corrupt Jungle video to end slightly early.
* Fixed a rare issue with the Corrupt SFX stays on after leaving the Deus Energy Beam.
* Updated Gamma slider visual to better represent optimal settings
* Added Full Controller Vibration Support
* Tweaked and improved some lightmaps.
* Fixed some minor snagging issues with certain props in various places.
* Shader and Material Optimisations across the board

Soul Axiom Launch – The Countdown Begins!



End of Development

Hi all, now we’re just over a week away from the 1.0 launch and we’re releasing the last few updates with minor bug fixes and improvements. If you haven’t heard already, we’re releasing the game on February 29th… a Leap Day!
We initially planned this to be our last Early Access update but there’s still room for one more minor update if need be which will likely take place just before the 1.0 release.

Operating System

This update will be going live for Windows, Mac and Linux.

Achievement Fixes

* Visitation Rights – Players who have completed the challenge but not unlocked the achievement should now have it unlocked when at the Hub.

Major Bug Fixes and Gameplay Improvements

* Added a vibration feature to controllers.
* Fixed an issue causing the back of the map not to load when revisiting the crypt in Church.
* Fixed a very rare issue with the player camera in Apartment.
* Fixed a very rare issue with the Winter HQ puzzle not catching the Play beam.
* Fixed an issue with the hit marker on the furnace being too small in Church graveyard.

Minor Bug Fixes and Gameplay Improvements

* Minor improvement to sensitivity settings for controllers.
* Fixed the mouse cursor overlaying the settings.
* Multiple deaths now cause the difficulty to lower in Corrupt Museum.
* Fixed a rare issue causing the crystal not to be obtainable on the plant in Apartment.
* Changed the escape pod ending in Space Station so it’s a one-click exit.
* Tweaked the cart puzzle in Beach so you don’t have to Play the last piece.
* Tweaked and balanced some SFX throughout the game.
* Fixed various frame rate drop spots throughout the game.
* The very first PEMO now disappears when collected.
* Fixed the flickering on the edge of the world in Elysian Fields.
