Hi all! We’ve had some great news from the Game Connection America 2016 Awards and that is Soul Axiom has been nominated for the “Best Console/PC Hardcore” award and is automatically put through for a chance to win the “People’s Choice Award”.

Update – 1.0 Release Date & Blue Duck Fun



Official 1.0 Release Date

Hi all, now we’re nearing the end of Early Access development, we’re releasing the last few updates with minor bug fixes and improvements. We now have an official release date of 29 February 2016.. A Leap Day!!
We are still to plan one more update before the release so Early Access contributors still have time to join in the with finishing touches of the game. Gamers will also notice a dramatic reduction in file size originally from around 12GB to a much lower size of just under 5GB. This is mainly down to a major ‘behind the scenes’ optimisation pass.

Operating System

This update will be going live with Windows, Mac and Linux. We had reports of a major visual bug in the previous Linux build so please get in touch via the forums if those problems are still occurring.

Achievement Fixes

* Achievements – Added the missing PEMO in the Hub to achieve Prime Ape
* Achievements – Re-linked the action for Monkey See Monkey Don’t to the achievement
* Achievements – Visitation Rights can now be achieved
* Achievements – Eye Flier can now be achieved
* Achievements – Touching Evil can now be achieved
* Achievements – There and Back Again can now be achieved
* Achievements – Removed the fireplace puzzle achievement in Mansion

Major Bug Fixes and Gameplay Improvements

* All Endings – Added visual feedback for when you are damaging the Angel

* Adjusted Blue Duck position so you aren’t forced into it
* Removed an invisible wall in University
* Fixed an issue with the hint particles on the moon pieces of Mansion

* Fixed various clipping issues with the Apartment
* Fixed an issue with the box reappearing in the Apartment
* Fixed an issue with the hints disappearing on the green console in Apartment
* Fixed some collision issues in Winter HQ

Soul Axiom is Content Complete!!



What's New?

The finale is here! If you've completed enough Zero levels then congratulations, your Central Visitation Beam (Find the related PEMO for more details) is now available to use! We’re proud to announce that Soul Axiom is content complete which means we can now look over the entire game to be touched up ready for the Early Access switch to be flipped.


Multiple Endings

With this update comes the final chapter of the game and we are giving you the chance to choose your own ending! Don’t worry, you won’t miss out on any gameplay, after completing the game you are free to revisit the Waiting Room to complete the endings of your choice. Without giving anything away, each ending consist of two scenarios with one bonus scenario depending on which path you take… you won’t want to miss it! Don't forget, you will need to have completed most Zero levels to gain access to the Waiting Room and ALL Zero's to unlock all three endings.

All Achivements are in! anyone who wants to 100% the game this is now possible! let us know if you have any problems with them.

Known Bugs


* Warzone Zero – It’s possible to die immediately in the level even when inside the bunker. It’s difficult, but not impossible to complete this level so please just keep running until you find cover outside.
* SFX & Music - There is a known major bug causing SFX and Music to drop occasionally throughout the game. Where and when it happens is quite random but the fix is already complete and will be in the next update.

Roughly 18 months of development and we're almost done with the PC version (we still have some tricks up our sleeves but we'll save that announcement for a rainy day) before porting the game to PS4, Xbox One and Wii U in Q1/Q2 2016.

Hi all, just a quick announcement today to say the Mac & Linux builds are now available.

New Visual/Gameplay Content & Complete Optimisation



Greetings Everybody!

We're back with a brand new update featuring new visual and gameplay content and our biggest optimisation and lighting pass to date!

If you missed our last announcement then follow this link where we announced the recent engine upgrade and explained why we rebuilt the level lighting from the ground up which has given the game a whole new bunch of benefits.

What's New?


Optimisation


Our biggest result of the update is the overall framerate throughout the entire game. Depending on what system spec you're running, you should notice a big difference in framerate and shouldn't experience any sudden drops in areas in the game. This is still a work-in-progress and we have found new ways to increase the FPS so expect to see more improvement after the game is content complete. We’re aiming for 60 FPS with most levels and are already hitting those targets in some. If you experience any further framerate drops then let us know in the bugs forum.

Visual Improvements


The force behind the huge optimisation pass was down to completely rebuilding the lighting and improving shader work in all chapters of the game. Some levels will have subtle changes whilst others will have had a complete makeover. You’ll notice some levels are now darker and this is because we’ve increased the glow from your powers which you can use to light up your surroundings and essentially act as a torch.
Some of the more noticeable levels that have visually been improved include Ice Palace, Church, Space Station, Mansion and University. Check out the new animated werewolves in the Mansion and new and improved gargoyles in the Church! We’ve also gone through and updated various textures and props to keep it in line with the rest of the game.

Chapter Six


We had intended to release part of Chapter Six with this update but have agreed to spend more time on polishing the entire ending to be released in our next update. In January, the game will be content complete and a date will be announced to flip the Early Access switch. We’ll be working full gas over Christmas to get Chapter Six up to a standard that we’re happy to release with.
