[p]Thank you to everyone who has shared feedback since launch! Your feedback has been incredibly valuable, and today we’re rolling out Patch 1.0 for Thief VR: Legacy of Shadow. [/p][p][/p][p]This update addresses several of the issues you’ve reported, with even more improvements coming in Patch 2.0 next week.[/p][p][/p][p]Patch 1.0 – Improvements & Fixes[/p]
  • [p]Final lighting polish: Eliminates fully dark zones, improving stealth readability throughout the game.[/p]
  • [p]Tighter inventory interactions: Picking up, switching, and using items now feels more precise.[/p]
  • [p]Clearer mission objectives: Updated hints and prompts, including improved guidance for lowering the final gate in Ravencourt Manor.[/p]
  • [p]Sharper headshots: Refined hit detection for more reliable precision takedowns.[/p]
  • [p]Guard states improved: Guards now have closed eyes when knocked out or sleeping.[/p]
  • [p]Interaction stability: General improvements to maintain consistent and reliable interactions.[/p]
  • [p]Geometry optimizations: Fixes and improvements to reduce geo popping throughout the game.[/p]
  • [p]More reliable checkpoint loading: Edge cases causing inconsistent loads have been addressed.[/p]
  • [p]Observatory return fix: Players are no longer softlocked when returning to the room where the Mechanical Eye was previously discovered.[/p]
  • [p]Ravencourt Manor: The key for the power station room now works reliably.[/p]
  • [p]Crouch state fix: Players will no longer remain stuck in a crouched position after certain cutscenes.[/p]
  • [p]Loading area fix: Prevents players from getting stuck in the loading area.[/p]
  • [p]Upgrade tracking fix: Previously completed upgrade objectives are now correctly marked as done.[/p]
  • [p]Somerville Observatory key fix: The generator room key no longer disappears.[/p]
  • [p]Helmet headshot fix: Face shots on helmeted guards now register properly.[/p]
  • [p]Reward tracking fix: Completed rewards are now granted correctly when exiting and continuing a level.[/p]
  • [p]Final mission loading fix: Players can now reliably load into the final mission.[/p]
  • [p]Power station key fix (Ravencourt Manor): The power station key now behaves consistently.[/p]
  • [p]Save slot stats fix: Playstyle stats no longer get mixed up between different save slots.[/p]
  • [p]Bolt-locked door fix: These doors no longer disappear when touched with a knocked arrow.[/p]
  • [p]Jittering hands fix: Hand jittering issues have been resolved.[/p]
  • [p]PC VR: Fixed an issue with the ‘Quit Game’ button not shutting down the game[/p]
  • [p]PC VR with Valve Index: Force required for Grip button has been reduced.[/p]

Thief VR: Legacy of Shadow is for all intents and purposes a revival of the Thief series after the…less than favourable Thief 4, I mean Thi4f that came out over a decade ago. It’s not just a nostalgia piece trying to reheat the old magic; it’s a full-bodied reimagining that understands why Thief mattered in the first place. Thief VR: Legacy of Shadow isn’t perfect, and its story stumbles more than it should, but as an interactive stealth experience, it’s probably the closest we’ve come to actually being in Garrett’s boots, well, in this case, Magpie’s boots, who is guided by Garrett.





The first few minutes of Thief VR: Legacy of Shadow sell the fantasy immediately.
