Dev Blog 10: Berserker 2.0: A God-like warrior reforged!
Hi Jotunnslayers!
Welcome to Dev Blog #10 for Jotunnslayer: Hordes of Hel!
We’re back with our weekly character introduction series, and today’s spotlight is on an old favorite with a fresh twist—the one and only Berserker!
Since our last update featuring this god-like warrior, Berserker has undergone a major overhaul in both balancing and design. Thanks to your feedback, this fan-favorite is now an even more polished, badass hero with an upgraded vibe!

WHAT’S NEW WITH BERSERKER?
Berserker’s arsenal has been upgraded with a brand-new active skill (and its Evolve) alongside two new passive skills (As have been all heroes’, of course, but stay tuned.)
NEW SKILLS
As the first to charge into battle, our most battle-scarred warrior has received his updated toolkit ahead of everyone else.
Introducing the Totem of Suffering—a brutal slaughterhouse of spinning death. This skill unleashes a pair of deadly whirling blades that release chains, hooking and dragging enemies unlucky enough to cross their path.

For passives, you can amplify his bloodthirsty, rage-fueled nature with Open Wounds, which gives a chance to inflict bleed on attack, and Adrenaline Rush, which offers a chance to heal the Berserker whenever he enters Rage.
RECAP OF THE OLD SKILLS
Let’s also revisit what makes Berserker a classic melee powerhouse—whether you’re a seasoned Jotunnslayer or a greenhorn upstart gearing up for the first time.
Berserker is the ultimate melee character: a resilient, axe-wielding hack-and-slasher driven by bloodlust and fury. His core abilities reflect this ferocity:
- Rage: Boosts damage, movement speed, and health regeneration.
- Hot Blood: Increases attack speed as HP falls, turning desperation into power.
- Survivor: Provides max health and health regeneration, keeping him alive in the thick of combat.
Berserker also offers versatile playstyles through his subclasses:
- Battle Master: Focuses on raw attack damage.
- Zealot: Channels divine favor, enhancing skill damage.
- Troll Scion: Amplifies Berserker’s innate regeneration, making him even more resilient in the center of the battle.

Berserker’s abilities range from up-close, brutal melee attacks to chaotic battlefield mayhem.
Wherever he fights, destruction follows. :)

We hope you enjoyed this Berserker recap and the improvements you’ll get to experience in full during Early Access!
We’ll keep the character intro series rolling in the coming weeks, so stay tuned.
Until then, get ready—a lot of slaying is on the horizon.
Cheers!
