Dev Blog #11: Seeress Reborn – New powers, Old secrets
Hi Jotunnslayers!
Welcome to Dev Blog #11 for Jotunnslayer: Hordes of Hel!
Today’s spotlight shines on the legendary Seeress—an old favorite reimagined and revitalized.
Just like the other classes you’ve experienced in the Jotunnslayer demo, the Seeress has undergone some changes and polish based on your valuable feedback and suggestions.
So, dive in and discover what the improved Seeress has to offer as we approach the Early Access launch!

Weapon: Staff
Ever reclusive and mysteriously powerful, the Seeress has long been the target of both the desperate, looking for their forlorn hope; and the contemptuous, seeking the end of her sinister and eldritch ways. A shadowy and clairvoyant opportunist, able to invoke contempt in the desperate, and desperation for contempt, she seeks to once outsmart the very ancients with her mastery of dark ancient arts.
The Seeress is a dark, staff-wielding witch, perfect for players seeking an eldritch spell caster. She uses her mystical foresight and twisted magic to protect herself and deal damage to her enemies.
WHAT’S NEW WITH SEERESS?
Let’s dive into the updates for our reclusive sorceress—The Seeress. Just like the Berserker, she too has received a few new tools to play around with.
NEW SKILLS
To further enhance the Seeress’ ability to maintain area control, we’ve introduced Magic Missiles—a skill that unleashes projectiles spreading from the Seeress to strike random enemies nearby. When evolved, this ability transforms into a magical ICBM: slamming into foes, exploding on impact, and shattering into smaller missiles for devastating effect.

When it comes to passives, we’ve taken a slightly different direction. First, we’ve made the Seeress more experienced, boosting her experience gains through a new unlockable passive—Divination. Second, based on your feedback and our analysis of the current “wardkeeping meta” (trademark pending), we introduced Healing Wards—giving the Seeress a chance to heal whenever one of her precious bubbles popped.
RECAP OF THE OLD SKILLS
Whether you’re a newcomer or a veteran, our quintessential magic user—and first introduced ranged character—deserves a quick refresh of her identity and ability roster.
The Seeress, a dark and mysterious sorceress, channels her mastery of ancient powers to devastate her enemies.
Her attacks unleash large splashes on impact, while her innate skills balance both offense and defense:
The Seeress supports multiple playstyles in her sorcerous combat:
