has just crashed into the underworld - and it’s one of our biggest drops yet for Jotunnslayers: Hordes of Hel! Strap in, because this one’s packed.


NEW MAP - SVARTALFHEIM
Dark mines, unstable machinery, and forgotten madness.



Welcome to Svartalfheim, a sprawling, mine-themed battlefield crisscrossed with minecart railways, heavy steel gates, and ancient dwarven mechanisms. This once-glorious domain of the Svartalfar was home to master artisans who crafted artifacts for mortals and gods alike - until something broke them.

Now, the ruins whisper of:

  • New objectives tied to the sinister crystal that drove them mad
  • Twisted map modifiers that will shake even the hardiest of warriors
  • A brutal Construct Jötunn that guards the depths of the assembly line



BOSS SPOTLIGHT: The Construct Jötunn


An artificial colossus built by dwarves and powered by the same mysterious crystals mined throughout Svartalfheim.
Once a marvel of industrial might - equipped with saws, dredgers, and metallurgical tools - this Jötunn was upgraded for war when the descent into madness began. Now, it stands as the last line of defense… or perhaps the first line of vengeance.




NEW ENEMIES & MODIFIERS


Flyers, spitters, troll riders, and goblin raiding parties now roam the mines





Prepare for blinding, mob density spikes, and brutal choice-based hindrances



Objectives like Crush & Carry add new tactical twists



NEW GOD DUO - BROKK & SINDRI
Forge masters. Rune whisperers. Unmatched artisans.

The legendary blacksmith brothers Brokk & Sindri join the Gods roster, though they’ve traded their anvil-forged weapons for the arcane art of Runecarving - because let’s face it, the Gods still have their weapons, but you don’t.
Their runes grant powerful passive stat bonuses to attacks, defense, and utility. Fully carving a rune unlocks peerless effects that can drastically enhance your build - for a price, of course.
No dwarf works for free.




NEW CLASS/HERO - THE WARDEN
The last of his kind. A walking fortress. A dwarf with nothing left but honor and appetite.

Introducing the Warden, a shield-bearing vanguard who once protected the noblest halls of Svartalfheim. Now? He drinks deep from his keg and swings harder than ever.



He’s a semi-ranged, hammer-and-board hero with:
  • Heavy defense
  • Crowd control
  • A hunger for gold, food, and glory


Innate Traits

  • Ground Smash - Replaces dash with a knockback + AoE stomp
  • Tower Shield - Passive chance to block and fully negate hits
  • Iron Within - Immune to slows, +200 bonus HP














Subclasses
  • Adventurer – Maximizes loot and XP gains
  • Shieldbearer – Pure tank, pure pain
  • Weapon Master – Turns your hammer into a god-tier weapon



FIRST COMMUNITY EVENT - HOBGOBLINS EVERYWHERE!


Two-week event starts today - May 13!
Introducing our first-ever limited-time event: Hobgoblins Everywhere!

A chaos-infused modifier spawns unique Hobgoblin enemies that:
  • Drop exclusive loot
  • Contribute to event-only challenges




Rewards
  • Trophy: Unlock all 5 Hobgoblin weapons (one per class)
  • Hobgoblin-themed weapons: Earned by slaying goblins with each character



Important Notes

  • Optional - Event can be toggled off in settings (it’s on by default)
  • Items won’t be exclusive forever - They’ll return closer to 1.0
  • This event helps us test new systems and gather feedback.

OTHER IMPROVEMENTS AND FIXES


  • Epilepsy warning screen added
  • Color blindness accessibility settings were added
  • Upgraded Trophy Room with new visuals and functionality
  • Steam deck text optimization
  • Reworked main menu news section for improved readability and navigation


Bug Fixes

  • Improved general performance and stability
  • Fixed issue where the game would not save on certain PCs
  • Resolved issue causing long delays when exiting the game
  • Fixed bug where exploding enemies would explode multiple times and survive
  • Addressed issue preventing interaction with the main menu after leaving a review
  • Fixed control rebinding issues on Steam Deck
  • Fixed bug where exploding enemies in Jotunheim did not deal damage


And don’t forget - the Jotunnslayer artbook has been updated with new Svartalfheim content, including enemies, a new hero, environments, a boss, and new gods.

The soundtrack has also been updated with new music from Svartalfheim.
