Hey Jotunnslayers!

Welcome to episode #7 of Jotunnslayer Dev Blog: What’s New in the Latest Public Demo? This update focuses on all the content and improvements made in the latest Jotunnslayer build, now available as a public demo!

We’ve wrapped up a critical phase in the development of Jotunnslayer: Hordes of Hel—the playtest is now behind us. This demo is the result of all the feedback, suggestions, and ideas we’ve collected from you.

So, HOW DOES JOTUNNSLAYER LOOK TODAY?

Based on your feedback, we’ve made several important improvements:

1. UX/UI Changes: We’ve updated UI elements for better text readability, new icons, and a complete GUI overhaul for Character, Gear, and Map selections, as well as improved new HUD. On the UX side, screen shake is now optional and can be adjusted in the Options menu from 0% to 200%! Additionally, the Temple has been torn down, with your personal improvements now accessible in the new Virtues menu.

2. New Icons and Updated Visuals: We’ve introduced new icons for all skills, sub-classes, and passives, both in-game and in the Virtues menu. Some ability visuals have been optimized, and the portraits for Berserker, Thor, and Freya have received a makeover.

3. Skill Evolves: Active skills have been upgraded with Rank 4 evolutions, enhancing gameplay in significant ways.

4. Tons of Optimization and Bug Fixes: We’ve resolved numerous issues to ensure smoother gameplay.

5. THE DARK SEERESS!: The long-awaited caster character is finally here! The Dark Seeress is decked out and ready to join the fight with wide variety of skills:
