[INTERNAL MEMO] Discoveries of new Blocks and Alien Species
Greetings, Platform Managers!
Those of you who read last week’s company-wide memo on the new developments to mineshafts may have noticed something slightly different in the images we shared…new blocks have been discovered!
The R ‘n’ D Department has been hard at work undertaking on-site research, and has discovered multiple new types of blocks and several new alien species which you’ll soon be interacting with during your contracts. Remember, a safe workforce means less spending on hiring and training replacements!
New Block Types
Multiple new types of blocks have been discovered in both the Cave and Frost Biomes; whilst the R ‘n’ D Department has not completed their research on all of these discoveries just yet (don't worry, they 'volunteered' to work overtime to resolve this issue within their workflow'), we are able to share some of these developments with you.
In the Cavern Biome, you’ll notice 4 new types of blocks; these include the Black Hole Block, which every so often will create a spacial rift in a block within a 2-block radius, and will after a short period of time pull whatever occupies that space (including your team members) into the black hole. Any ore contained within that previous block will disappear, and you will find coal in its place - so you’ll need to plan accordingly not to lose precious resources! Another block you’ll notice now in Cavern Biomes is the Explosive Block, which will explode a few seconds after reaching less than 10% HP; this will cause damage to all living creatures and blocks within a 1-block radius, so be wary.
In the Frost Biome, you’ll find 5 new block types which will need their own unique strategies to handle; these include the Whirlwind Block, which periodically pushes away blocks within a 5 block radius, crushing anything in the pushed block’s path, and the Cryostone Block, which regenerates over time in the location it was destroyed.

New Aliens
The R ‘n’ D Department has also discovered 6 new enemies within various biomes, which all Platform Managers will be encountering soon. Whilst not all of these species have been fully vivisected investigated just yet, they include the Revigor, found on Cavernous planets, which leaves a cloud upon its death that reinvigorates surrounding aliens; the Sentrix, which prefers Frost planets and periodically generates an impenetrable shield around itself; and the Raptor, found in the Jungle Biome, which increases the speed of all nearby enemies.
Naturally, you’ll need to prepare accordingly to handle these new species, utilizing your buildings and turrets to ensure optimized performance and minimal loss of life during your contracts. Luckily, we’ll be sharing more about the development of new turrets and buildings next week, so you’ll be able to strategize accordingly.
