[INTERNAL MEMO] Management Overview Developments

[p]Greetings, Platform Managers! [/p][p]
With the full launch of Drill Core on July 17 fast approaching, the Board of Directors has generously allowed the R’n’D Department a brief break from their mandatory uncompensated overtime to share some of the upcoming developments you can expect from the full 1.0 release. These improvements are expected to allow for streamlined management of all mining contracts, and we look forward to seeing the expected increase in output from all Platform Managers.[/p][p][/p][p]Streamlined Resource Management [/p][p]
Whether you’re needing to upgrade your Turrets to handle those Aliens at night, or trying to upgrade your Technology so you can unlock a much-needed building, there are various reasons you may need to prioritize specific resources for your Workers to collect; and now, you’ll be able to! [/p][p]
Using the new Resource Management menu that will appear during your contracts, you will be able to select to prioritize specific resources globally for all Workers, making them easier to manage during your contracts.[/p][p][/p][p]In-Game Wiki [/p][p]
Platform Managers will now have access to the Drill Core Wiki entries for all Blocks and Aliens they encounter during a contract; simply holding down the Wiki button will allow you to access the specific entry for that Block or Alien type, allowing you to better-manage how your Miners and Guards respond to threats and challenges from unfamiliar sources. [/p][p]
We expect to see a significant increase in the profits of completed contracts due to the decreased loss of life in the wake of these changes! [/p][p]
[/p][p]Technology Management [/p][p]
Strategic Platform Management is an integral part of any successful mining contract, and the R’n’D Department is introducing a new mechanic that will make this easier than ever before; Platform Managers will now have the option to ban certain buildings from the Technology pool for the duration of a contract. This means those Buildings will no longer be an option, and you’ll be able to preserve your precious Technology Rerolls if there’s a Building you don’t feel will be useful for the particular contract you’re completing. [/p][p]Use this new option wisely, Platform Managers - once a Building has been banned, you won’t be able to use it for the duration of the contract! [/p][p]
[/p][p]Additional Management Improvements [/p][p]
Of course, the developments mentioned above are far from the full scope of everything Platform Managers can expect from the full 1.0 release; among the new features you’ll be able to enjoy on July 17 are 10 new qualifications, Turret Parameters which show various parameters depending on the Turret type like damage and range of Turrets before building, and the option to View Damage Numbers for your defenses on Aliens. [/p][p]
We’ll look forward to sharing the full range of changes with you when 1.0 launches on July 17th. [/p][p]
As always, we strongly encourage all Platform Managers to follow the corporate TikTok and Twitter accounts for a clear line of communication with Drill Core Inc., and also to take part in company-wide conversations on the corporate Discord server. [/p][p]
Moderate regards,
The Drill Core Inc. Board of Directors[/p][p]

[INTERNAL MEMO] New Worker Species to Join Drill Core Inc.

[p]Greetings, Platform Managers! [/p][p]
The HR Department is thrilled to share that a new species of workers will be joining Drill Core Inc. alongside the full launch on July 17. As such, the Board of Directors has generously permitted them to share a brief overview of this new species of workers with you. [/p][p]Please allow us to introduce you to Swarnids![/p][p]
Due to the extraneous food, sleep, and sanitation costs of both human and Dwarven workers, the Drill Core Inc. Board of Directors sanctioned the creation of a temporary Minimally Demanding Bioform Search Committee, who were able to find Species 637-B, hereby referred to solely as ‘Swarnids’; creatures that hatch from larvae, are lead by a Queen and importantly, are legally classified as non-sentient, to assist with all mining operations. [/p][p][/p][p]The Swarnid Platform [/p][p]
Platform Managers will now be able to unlock the Swarnid Platform from the main Upgrade console, which will allow you to utilize this new species, and all associated buildings required to effectively manage the Swarnids. [/p][p]
Upon selecting the Swarnid Platform, your starting buildings will include: the Swarnid Nest, which will produce Larvae; a Swarnid-run Laboratory for upgrades; a Swarnid Incubator Turret, which incubates Swarnubs during the day and releases them to fly around the Mine; the Laser Turret; and a Swarnid Watchtower, which fires flies around itself every so often that latch onto targets and cause damage.
Due to the Swarnids’ superior experience of living in near-total darkness, the Swarnid Platform also offers an additional 20% damage to Night Enemies. [/p][p]
[/p][p]Swarnid Workers [/p][p]
All Swarnid Workers are created from Larvae that hatch from the Swarnid Nest, and Platform Managers will designate which Worker type they need. Upon selection, Larvae will fly to a random Block, where they’ll incubate for a short period of time before emerging as a fully operational Swarnid. [/p][p]
There are three types of Swarnid Workers: Swarnid Gnawlers can dig earth with their teeth; Swarnid Lumpers can carry resources to their base; and Swarnid Wardens defend the Swarm from attacks. Each of these basic workers count as 0.5 of your workforce, so Platform Managers can enjoy a full Swarm of Workers in no time. [/p][p]
We look forward to seeing your profits increase as you learn how to work with this fascinating species! [/p][p][/p][p]Swarnid Upgrades[/p][p]Of course, introducing a new species to Drill Core Inc.’s workforce has allowed the R’n’D Department to expand upon their operations, and they have prepared a range of upgrades for those Platform Managers who meet their performance - and profit! - targets. [/p][p]As such, various upgrades will be available for the Swarnid Platform from your Upgrade Console, some of which the R’n’D Department has shared with us below:[/p]
  • [p]Acceleration Spores: Swarnid Workers will leave behind a small cloud upon death, which will speed up surrounding Swarnids for a period of time. [/p]
  • [p]Genetic Optimization: Certified Swarnid genetic optimization ensures that every 4th hired worker is born genetically enhanced. This is tracked individually per worker type.[/p]
  • [p]Rapid Brooding: Growth hormones are given to all Swarnids, allowing them to hatch 5 seconds faster. [/p]
  • [p]Wallcrawlers: Swarnid Turrets begin symbiosis with the Platform, allowing them to grow limbs and move around the walls of the mine. [/p]
[p]Naturally, there will be further developments prior to the July 17th launch of Drill Core 1.0, and the R’n’D Department is hard at work during their mandated unpaid overtime to ensure there is a full range of technology available to those Platform Managers who will be working alongside the Swarnid race. [/p][p][/p][p]We hope this memo has been insightful, and that you provide a warm welcome to the Swarnids as they join our ranks. Being legally non-sentient, they won’t notice, but we do like to foster a diligent working environment.
[/p][p]As always, we strongly encourage all Platform Managers to follow the corporate TikTok and Twitter accounts for a clear line of communication with Drill Core Inc., and also to take part in company-wide conversations on the corporate Discord server. [/p][p][/p][p]Appropriately kind regards,
The Drill Core Inc. Board of Directors[/p][p]

[INTERNAL MEMO] Turret Innovations

[p]Greetings, Platform Managers!
[/p][p]The R’n’D Department is hard at work on the development of various upgrades and features to better optimize company performance ahead of Drill Core Inc.’s worldwide launch on July 17, but has been allocated this brief intermission to share some news of what you, our industrious employees, can expect in the coming weeks.
Please utilize your gracious 10 minutes of allocated training and development time to familiarize yourself with these developments. [/p][p]
Improved Turret Assembly [/p][p]Due to new mandates on the R’n’D Department’s working hours, new innovations have been made in how turrets are installed for Platform Managers, with upgrade modules now available for each turret; to be able to access these developments, simply select the Improved Turret Assembly upgrade option from the main upgrade menu before starting a new contract. [/p][p]These new upgrade modules allow for more control over how turrets will behave during mining operations, allowing for heightened security for the on-site team. [/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]
Turret Upgrade Options[/p][p]Upon selecting an installed turret during contracts, you’ll now have access to an individual upgrade tree for that turret, with various options to alter the original parameters on the base turret. These upgrades include Shooting Speed, which will increase the shooting speed of a turret by a certain percentage; Attack Radius, which will provide a percentage increase to the range on turrets; and Double Damage Chance, which offers a chance for double damage to occur when the turret fires. [/p][p]There are multiple levels to each of these upgrades, each offering an increase in percentage for their designated stat.[/p][p]Please note that each of these upgrades will require both Iron and Swarmlit to be successful; whilst Drill Core Inc. does not condone ‘needless’ death in the completion of contracts, we do implore you to consider the value of these resources to the company and consider each upgrade carefully. [/p][p][/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]Turret Focus Priority [/p][p]The second change diligent Platform Managers will notice thanks to these developments is the new Turret Focus Priority available for each turret. This new setting will allow you to select the priority for each individual turret’s defensive actions, and will allow you to target various attributes of alien species, including those closest or furthest from the turret, those with the lowest or highest health within range, and those closest or furthest from the core itself.
These new defensive options allow for greater control over defensive operations during contracts, and we do look forward to the increase in profits all Platform Managers will be expected to deliver due to this improvement to defenses. [/p][p][/p][p]We hope you’ve found this insight into new developments insightful, and are planning accordingly. [/p][p]As always, we strongly encourage all Platform Managers to follow the corporate TikTok and Twitter accounts for a clear line of communication with Drill Core Inc., and also to take part in company-wide conversations on the corporate Discord server
[/p][p]Lukewarm regards, [/p][p]The Drill Core Inc. Board of Directors[/p]
