Kingdom Rush 5: Alliance TD News

Greetings, General!

Have you heard the command? Vesper and Raelyn are reading the troops to finally march to battle in only 2 days! I've been tasked with something new: a roll call to make sure our troops are good to go! Join me as we take a stroll through the camp and check in on our soldiers.



The clashing sound of swordplay filled the Linirean Camp as the Paladins sparred under the approving gaze of Lumenir. Catching sight of me, they quickly lined up.

Sheepy: "How are we feeling about the upcoming battle?"

Paladin: "We Stand at The Ready! For Honor and Glory!"

I nodded in agreemenet and continued to the next group.

Vesper’s indications of “Ready, aim… FIRE!!” led the Royal Archers in their target practice. Each time they fired, hell drew loose on a wildbeast dummy positioned at a distance. The poor thing was almost unrecognizable at this point.

Sheepy: "How's the training going? Everything in order over here?"

Vesper: "Bulls-eye after bulls-eye! Ready to march and find our King!"

I finally decided not to bother the Arboreans, Elves and Wizards, who sat deep in meditation under a big tree, at peace with whatever challenges may arise.



For all the differences they claim to have, the sounds at Dark Amy camp were not much different.. one sword clashing sounds much like another!

The Demons from the Pit and Shadow Archers lined up for my inspection.

Shadow Archer: "We'll Show Them No Mercy!"

Demon: "Can we go back to the Lava Pool now...?"

The camp tinkerers ran around busily , oiling and checking up their war machines to ensure everything was in tip-top shape before the big day.

Sheepy: “How fares the war machinery on this side of the camp?”

Chim: “We’re checking one last time. Technical difficulties will not do!”

Churri: “Buckle up! This is the third "last time". Bet there will be ten more if I know my cousin!"



Seems like everything's good to go... for now!

I have to admit though, as the big battle day creeps closer, my stomach churns with a bundle of nerves and excitement alike.

Welcome, General, to our exclusive interview with the Alliance ranks!

Today, we have a highly anticipated guest! We're meeting Anya, the shadow hunter who bravely battles the dark forces in the realm.

At the agreed time, a cauldron of bats appeared, beckoning me to follow. I trailed their fluttering wings, leading me to the heart of the Linirean camp, where I found Anya engaged in a tranquil conversation with... a SPECTER?! 

Dante: "You look like you've just seen a ghost!"

Anya: "Dad, stop teasing them... they HAVE!"

The air rang with laughter as they poked fun at my bewildered expression.


Sheepy:  “Thanks for meeting me, Anya. And wait, the legendary vampire hunter, Dante? Is it really you? Are you... dead?

Dante: "Do I look alive to you? I was the best at what I did, but vampire hunting has many occupational hazards.  When I died, my spirit chose to remain in this plane, to watch over my little girl.”

Anya: "I've got this, Dad! You and Mom prepared me well. Hunting is my business too. But your guidance and company are always appreciated."

Sheepy: “Anya, what led you to follow your Father’s steps?

Anya: “Being the child of a Vampire and a Hunter wasn't easy. My parents kept me hidden to protect me, all while teaching me to use my vampiric powers for good. When my father passed, I was ready to carry on his mission and legacy.”



Sheepy: “How does being a half-vampire influence your hunting?"

Anya: "It's simple. It grants me the power to hunt those who deserve it."

Dante: “Lucrezia is unique. My love for her and our daughter runs deep. But most vampires walk a darker path, preying on the innocent... ”

Sheepy: "So, why did you decide to join the Alliance? There don't seem to be many vampires to hunt here."

Anya: "We hunt all creatures of the dark, and cultists commit unimaginably horrific atrocities. My pursuit of them led me to the southern continent, where I crossed paths with Vesper and the others, and eventually, the Alliance."


In a Kingdom clouded by many dangers, encountering souls like Anya reminded me that the future was in capable hands. Looks like the kids are alright after all!

The Alliance is preparing for its march, with tensions beginning to surface... 

Just today, during my morning stroll, the sounds of a heated argument caught my attention.

The clash of voices drew me closer until I found myself at the center of a fierce quarrel between the Arcane Wizards and Necromancers, two of the most powerful mages in our Alliance.



Arcane Wizard: "Mind your tongue, or I’ll polymorph it into a frog! Your dark arts but twisted shadows compared to the splendor of our true, High Magic!"

Necromancer: "You think so highly of your feeble tricks? Nature bends to our will, death itself bows before us. Show some respect before true power!"

Arcane Wizard: "Ah, look, the Sheep reporter graces us with their presence. Settle it for us, Sheepy. Who truly wields the mightiest magical craft?"

Necromancer: "Ha! Even this wooly observer could see you for a fool. Tell them how darkness reigns supreme."

And just like that, they made me a part of it! Perhaps a moment of quick journalistic wit could be the key to emerging unscathed from their conflict.

Sheepy: "Let's settle this like civilized people. Present your best spells and make your case for why you deserve to be known as the most powerful order in these lands."

Arcane Wizard: “Order, ancient as Time and Magic itself, harnesses the purest essence of Magical Energy through crystals and age-old runes, conjuring the deadliest enchantments known to mortals.”

To demonstrate, he disintegrated a nearby tree branch into ashes, leaving me startled.

Sheepy: “Has your Order remained  unchanged for such a long time?”

Arcane Wizard: "In our pursuit of enlightenment, we always seek to refine our knowledge, runes, and spells. While we delve into new incantations, we remain vigilant, and wary of the shadows. We have learned as much from the missteps of Sorcerers, who recently succumbed to the allure of darkness.”

Necromancer: “Buufoon! You deny the darkness in your soul! You deny your POWER!! ! We hold command over an infinite undead army, rising from the corpses of our enemies. Can you match that?”

With a swift motion of his staff, a green flame of light resurrected the tree branch into a pitiful crawling stick skeleton.

Sheepy: “I recall seeing you on the opposite side. How did you end up aligning with the Dark Army?”

Necromancer: “Our Orders are not pawns to be toyed with by Kings like lesser beings. We are strategic. We play both sides so that we always come up on top.”

Both magicians looked at me, and I suddenly faced the daunting task of choosing the mightier faction. How could I get out of it?

Sheepy: "Power isn't about raw strength, it's about finding balance. When light and darkness team up, magic is at its best! So, keep working together in our dear Alliance, who knows what kind of cool stuff you could do next!"

None seemed too convinced with my verdict, but with that, I made my swift escape, leaving the magic users to ponder. I better watch out where I walk next time!
