Happy Thanksgiving, General!
I’m about to host a dinner interview with Sylvara, the Arborean Dragon who just teamed up with the Alliance to tackle the new pesky Crocodile plot.
The table is beautifully set among the trees, and the veggie turkey looks baa-rilliant! Let’s dig in and see what stories she has to share.
Sheepy: "Thanks for sitting with me, Sylvara! Can you tell me about the enemy we’re about to face?"
Sylvara: “That is a long story, little mutton… It goes back to the Beginning of Times. Once the world was created by three Primordials, the lesser beings came to existence, to fill the world with life, form, ideas… you call them different names: incarnations, avatars, gods. The Light, the Life, the Dark, the Flame, the Ice… and many more. And among these… was me… and him. We both served the same purpose – to maintain balance in the living nature. I was the growth, and he – consumption…’’
Sheepy: “Does he have a name?”
Sylvara: “He did, but once he abandoned us and became what he became, he was no longer the same. He became… an abomination, and hence we call him… Abominor”
Sheepy: “What happened? please tell!”
Sylvara: “For countless centuries, we maintained balance in the natural world. But then he discovered the thrill of devouring everything around him. And so his primal urges consumed what remained of his sanity. As he feasted on everything which he laid his claws on… he grew larger and larger, threatening to overwhelm all we hold dear. We had to stop him”
Sheepy: “How did you manage that?”
Sylvara: “Abominor became so large, his soul became a melting furnace and his blood became a venom, even my powers were not enough. I had a little help from my friends, I can even say children, the Ancient Arboreans. Their shamans channeled the energy of nature through me, and together we casted a powerful Seal to put Abominor into imprisonment. It worked beautifully... until now, when it seems a few too many croks got the bright idea to let him out.”
Sheepy: “What? Why would they want to set such a monster free?!”
Sylvara: “Oh… they believe it is their duty to feed their master and think freeing him is their ultimate purpose. We cannot allow this to happen. Even now, I can feel the Seal faltering beneath the raw power of his hunger…”
Sheepy: “That’s terrible! How can you stop this?”
Sylvara: “I cannot do this alone. We must rally our allies and stop the croks. Every creature that cares for balance, or life itself, must join together. Today, during this feast, let’s not just enjoy nature’s bounty, but plan our strategy. The world itself needs our protection once again”.
As the sun dipped below the horizon, casting a golden hue over the trees, we finished our Thanksgiving meal surrounded by tiny arboreans, filled with the purpose of protecting all we hold dear.
After all, the Kingdom is too good a place to end up as Abominor's all-you-can-eat buffet!
