THANKS FOR PLAYING OUR CLOSED PLAYTEST

Hello Angels and Demons,

Our Closed Playtest ends today and we’d like to thank you warmly for all your feedback.

Launching a playtest is a key moment for us. It’s heartwarming to see the engagement from some of you and follow the discussions we’ve seen on our Discord.
Your feedback helps us identify what currently works, what we need to improve, and what we should focus on next.

If you want to contribute more feedback, and join the community, you can join our Discord.

Here are the key areas we’ll be focusing on to improve the game experience and prepare for another Playtest later this year:

Balancing :
  • The first floor is much harder compared to the later floors - once you get to them.
  • We believe it’s too hard to focus on learning the game while being in survival mode right from the first floor.
  • Some characters are currently overpowered - hello Godly Terrapin - we’ll be working on adjustments.
  • With Lost In Prayer we want every character to be a valid choice to win a run.
Improve the onboarding :
  • We are missing some tutorial elements to make the game accessible to newcomers to the genre.
  • Because we love eureka moments and the joy of discovery - something that’s part of Nine Dots’ DNA - don’t expect a heavy-handed tutorial.
Bug fixes :
  • Thanks to your feedback we are identifying and prioritizing bug fixes.

See you soon in Hell and Heaven.
Matthieu

We’re releasing our second Dev Diary: Surviving the Unfair

[previewyoutube][previewyoutube][/previewyoutube][/previewyoutube]

Learn more about the tactical options in Lost in Prayer with our in-depth second developer Diary.

Here is a quick recap of what you will be able to experience in Lost In Prayer
In Lost In Prayer, you need to take careful steps to consider your environment, which means taking advantage of projectiles, choke points, and traps. Use special mobility skills to evade your enemies or push them into lava pits or into each other.
  • Gear, Stats, and Skills: Define how you want to play your run and characters. There are multiple ways to play any character, and you won’t be able to unlock everything in one run.
  • Strategic Skill point use: Think carefully about how you invest in sins and virtues, which will improve some stats at the detriment of others. If you push all the way in one direction, you will face severe drawbacks in exchange.
  • Unlock Skills Through Loot: Discover otherwise inaccessible skills through loot, which can redefine how you play your run.
