BUS: Bro u Survived News

We got answers!
Hey, survivors!
Week after week flies by, and work is in full swing. This week, we'll keep our progress under wraps and instead answer the questions that have been piling up from players.
What's the development team's favorite weapon?
Long and heated debates within the team led to an unexpected favorite - the trombon shotgun stood out to all of us more than any other. Powerful, loud, and full of character!
What other types of weapons will be in the game?
We unanimously voted the acid thrower as the most unusual weapon, and the funniest gadget is the saddle hat (yes, you heard that right). Most of the arsenal will be unlocked as you progress through the game: some will drop from completing missions, some will need to be unlocked through research at the base, and others are hidden away in the darkest corners of the world.
What can you build at the base? Why gather survivors there?
The base serves as both a shelter and a full-fledged resource production center. Here, the player researches blueprints for new weapons and produces ammunition and resources. And that's exactly what the survivors are for - to make all of this work: they research, craft, and toil. There's no getting around food - you'll have to gather it during expeditions to keep your workers fed.
Can the bus be upgraded? How?
The bus can be upgraded in two ways: cosmetically and functionally. Functional modules provide real bonuses to speed, capacity, durability, and other parameters. For example, you can install armored doors, reinforced windows, turrets, an external storage, a flamethrower, or even an ultrasonic horn. The zombies definitely won't be happy.
What will be available after the story campaign?
When the main missions are complete, the game doesn't end. We're planning to let you replay missions in any order - with all the upgrades you've accumulated. We're also thinking about additional game modes, but we'll share more about those after release.

If any of your questions remain unanswered, feel free to ask them in the comments below! In the meantime, the best way to support BUS development is to make sure the game is on your Wishlist:

Survival Engineering
Hello, Survivors!
Another week has passed - which means it’s time to share some development news with you.
We won’t spoil any story twists, but we’re happy to show off some new tools and visual effects in this post!
Metal Shell
The Shield is a tool designed to protect the player from enemy attacks, projectiles, and melee opponents. In its inactive state, it is compact and easily carried in the character’s hand. It is activated by holding the right mouse button. Once activated, it unfolds and creates a protective zone in front of the player. Projectiles cannot pass through the shield, and zombies cannot get close to the player.

However, these advantages come at a cost - your movement speed will be reduced, and you won’t be able to jump or perform rolls. Use the shield wisely!
A Fatal Step
The Mine is a device that can be placed at a selected point in the game world. The installation process takes some time: one second after completion, the mine becomes active - a small light starts blinking to indicate that it is operational.

The mine can damage both zombies and players, so be careful!
New visual effects!
We’ve created a new effect to visualize the propeller in action - powerful enough to handle even the wildest ideas of the survivors on Fang Island!

There’s a chance of rockfall! New effects for rocks falling to the ground and breaking off from cliffs have been added:

And this is how water will spray from burst pipes:

Zombie of all trades
Hello, Survivors!
While you’re putting the game through its paces in the ongoing playtest, our team is working tirelessly on further development and polishing the project. First of all, we’re excited to share some great news: the voice-over for the main characters of our game is now fully complete!

Want to know what else is new and awesome? Let’s dive into this devlog.
The Lure Mannequin
No, it’s not luring survivors to a sale at the nearest supermarket. And no, it’s not inviting zombies to feast on fresh brains.

The “Lure” is a tool designed to attract zombies and redirect their aggression toward itself. To deploy it, select the item from the tool wheel and place it on the ground. While the lure is active, zombies will ignore other triggers. But remember: its effect is limited, and once the device disappears, zombies will switch their attention back to the players.
Devastating Firepower
The survivors’ arsenal has been expanded not only with a clever zombie distraction device, but also with a powerful portable turret. This is a single-use tool designed to automatically attack zombies within a set radius after deployment.

The turret’s attack radius is fixed, so once placed, it will automatically eliminate any zombie entering its kill zone. It fires continuously as long as there is a target within range. The turret also has a limited operating time - once it expires, it puts on a localized firework show.
Zombie Pipeline
We’ve added new animations to some of the game’s levels. For example, we created pipe movement animations triggered by stepping on platforms and added an effect showing zombies traveling inside them on one of the locations.

Which location is it, and what quest is it tied to? That’s still a secret…

Happy Valentine's Day!
Hello, survivors!
Today, we're taking a break from game development to focus on what truly matters - our loved ones. They're the ones worth surviving for and mowing down zombie hordes. Or, on the other side, the ones worth conquering and infecting entire islands with your epidemic.

Happy Valentine's Day to our players! We wish you - today and always - to love and to be loved by your survival partner. Share the loot, spread the happiness, and build your bases together!

How U Survived?
Hello, survivors!
Our playtest is in full swing! While players are bashing zombies into the ground and fixing up their buses, our development team is tirelessly fixing bugs - found by you, our wonderful players - and polishing the game for its full release.

We've gathered some playtest statistics for you - perhaps you're among these numbers:
 • Over 57,000 players launched the playtest, and more than 70,000 missions were completed in total.
 • Approximately 1,320,000 zombies were defeated, and over 5 million units of resources were collected.
 • Players assembled about 64,000 buses in total - enough for an entire country's fleet!

Thanks to feedback on Discord and here on Steam, we've received over 50 suggestions and ideas. We're noting it all down and will take it into account in the future!

We are sincerely grateful to everyone for such support!

Haven't tried the game yet? No worries - there's still time to fix that! Just join the test on the main store page (and add it to your Wishlist too!):
