Dimensionals Major Patch 0.9.1

Dimensionals Major Patch 0.9.1, Monday Dec 16th
New Additions:
• Added VFX to Multiple Backgrounds including the Shop and multiple battles.
• New VFX showing when Mana is gained.
• New Keyword: Deadly
• Skills with Deadly gain a multiplier to Rage and Corruption damage dealt by those skills. For example, if a hero has 5 Rage and they use a skill with Deadly 5, the bonus damage granted by Rage will be 5 x 5 = 25 damage.
Updated Features:
• Updated Pyropaws starter skill to Flamewreath from Embolden.
• Updated how effect stacking and trigger interactions work.
• Skills can no longer trigger off themselves, and skills triggered in a chain of events cannot re-trigger the effect of the parent skill.
Dev Note:Skills can no longer create infinite loops or extremely long chains of events. This will not affect the gameplay for the vast majority of players, however it will stop quite a few of the current ways to deal billions of damage across a few turns.
• Removed Warp-In and Warp-Out animation delays when entering and exiting the shop.
• Minor updates to some Water Skill artwork.
• Updated Mode Select screen.
• Updated artwork for some Potions and Curses.
• New Art for the Mega Heal Potion.
• Fixed positions of various Curses to better display the artwork.
• Updated some Malliss dialogue poses to prevent some overlap with the text bubbles.
• Updated tooltip for the Storm mechanic in the Stratascend fight.
• Added some animation batching. If the same animation will play back to back, it will now play a single animation rather than playing it repeatedly.
Updated Hero Skill Unlock levels:
• Heroes now unlock their new skills at levels 4, 7, 12, 15, 17, and 20 instead of 2, 5, 7, 10, 15, and 20.
Dev Note: This change is meant to slightly slow the power gained from a player’s very first run with a set of heroes to prevent them from getting flooded with new build options multiple times in their very first run.
Economy Updates:
Dev Note: As a whole, gold was far too available for the player, especially in the early game where one could very easily take advantage of how easy it was to obtain a slew of economy-boosting relics in map 1 and by the end of map 2 having enough gold to simply buy a full build and breeze through the remainder of the run. In this patch, we’re drastically toning down the availability of gold to the player throughout the run to make purchases feel a bit more tactical.
Base Gold per Battle:
• Normal Battles: Reduced from 100g to 70g
• Elite Battles: Reduced from 300g to 140g
• Boss Battles: Reduced from 500g to 300g
Relic Prices in Shops:
• Increased to 60g from 20g
Upgrade Costs:
• Common Skills:
• 1* - 2* reduced from 100g to 60g
• 2* - 3* reduced from 200g to 120g
• Rare Skills:
• 1* - 2* reduced from 200g to 110g
• 2* - 3* reduced from 500g to 140g
• Epic Skills:
• 1* - 2* reduced from 500g to 150g
• 2* - 3* reduced from 1000g to 250g
• Upgradebro Special Encounter:
• Gold cost to enter the upgrade workshop reduced from 200g to 100g.
Relics:
Dev Note: The majority of relic updates here are to reduce the power of the Shopkeeper economy relics. They will still give the player a decent boost to their gold generation without trivializing the later battles in a run.

We’re back again this week for another hotfix patch to address some immediate crash issues. Thank you all for your feedback and suggestions and bug reports over in our Discord server, it has all been tremendously helpful as we continue moving forwards in Early Access. Today’s patch is a relatively small one so let’s dive right in:
New Additions:
• Abandon Raid (Title Screen)
Dev Note: We’ve added a new Abandon Raid button to the title screen to ensure that if players are somehow locked in an infinite loop or an exceptionally long calculation loading screen, they can end their run from the title screen and get back into the game.
• Removed Single Encounter Card options from Map 1 of the Master Raid
Dev Note: Before players have a chance to get a developed build, sometimes single fights or elites could ruin a run on the spot. We’ve removed the ability for single option rooms to exist in the first map of the Master Raid so there will always be at least 2 options to choose from to ensure a smoother start to your run.
Crash / Bug / Performance Fixes:
• Puff Pow Updated:
• When any hero deals damage to a target with 30+ Poison, deal 5 Bonus Damage to the target (1, 2, 3) times. Max 10 times per turn. Unique.
Dev Note: Puff Pow was drastically overtuned and resulted in a very easy infinite loop by simply owning two of them. Especially in the Rare slot, this level of power was a bit TOO much for Fungass to handle. We’ve reduced the number of hits Puff Pow can deal per rank to 10, 20, and 30 respectively, and given it unique to create some more diversity in Fungass builds.
• Fortified Poison fixed to no longer trigger off itself leading to instability and crashes.
• Tainted Flurry reduced to a maximum of 20 hits per cast.
• Noxious Barrier now has a maximum trigger of 20 times per turn.
• Sporecoating now scales maximum applications per turn with rank.
• Rank 1: Limit of 10 times per turn
• Rank 2: Limit of 20 times per turn.
• Rank 3: Limit of 30 times per turn.
• Infinite / Near Infinite Calculations crashing the game.
• We have implemented a two step process here to solve this issue going forwards. We value the stability of Dimensionals and the ability for players to have fun without crashing very highly so we’re approaching this with an immediate fix and a future rework.
• Step 1: This hotfix patch. We are applying a hard limit of 50 procs per skill per turn so nothing can go infinite.
• Step 2: A future addition that re-works how passive triggers work to help smooth out the insanity that can come from a long chain of events. We’ll address this more in that patch down the road.
• Refactor of the Prediction System:
• We’ve done an optimization pass on the skill prediction system to reduce some of the resources needed for calculations which should result, when paired with the limit of 100 above, in reduced calculation times and should prevent most further crashes or softlocks.
Misc Fixes
• Fixed an issue where Screamweaver was using the icon for War in some attack forecasting.
• Fixed an issue where using a Corruption potion against Ragnarath could result in a crash.
• Fixed an issue where entering battle against a Skitterer could occasionally cause a black screen.
Balance Updates:
• Updated Campaign Mode to be slightly harder overall.
• Increase HP and Damage of most enemies in the Campaign Mode to make it less trivial.
Dev Note: The Campaign Mode will remain the “easier” mode to play to experience the store, learn more about the lore and witness comic book cutscenes, however the current iteration was a bit TOO easy. We will continue to monitor the difficulty level of the campaign as we continue through Early Access.
• Fixed interaction with Defending Wave and Force of Nature causing an infinite loop.
• Defending Wave and Force of Nature now grant “Bonus Block” and will not trigger off each other. (Fixed on Friday Nov 22nd).

• Status Effect reductions are now capped at a minimum value of 1.
• Added missing artwork for the Relic Combobro’s Girdle.
• Distracting Tail updated:
• Old: At the start of each turn, apply 2 Dodge to all enemies.
• New: At the start of each battle, apply 5 Dodge to all enemies.
Bug Fixes:
• General performance updates.
• Fixed various interactions with Poison Critical Hits not triggering other Critical Hit effects.

• Fixed “Session Expired” error.
• Fixed missing Malliss kill achievement.
• Fixed Fungass unlock quest not working correctly.
• Fixed an issue where Leviathan would sometimes spawn without animations.
• Fixed some issues where clicking rapidly inside the campaign could lead to a locked state.
• Fixed an issue where demo players were not properly receiving achievements in the full game.
• All achievements will now properly populate on launch.
• Fixed an issue with the Ragnarath Battle where the hero targeting was not working properly.
• Removed the “Wishlist Now” button persisting in the Early Access version.
• Fixed various crashes in the Campaign and Master Raid.
• Fixed an issue where the hero XP screen was visible in the Campaign Mode.
• Fixed issue where Demo or Playtest corrupts main-game save
Dev Note: Currently only the Master Raid mode grants heroes XP, so we are hiding the Hero XP from the Victory Screens inside the Campaign Mode to prevent confusion.
