Content Pack #2: Patch Notes for version 0.8.250612

  • [p]✨New Achievement: Curse 9: Win a run with 9 curses[/p]
  • [p]✨New Achievements for unlocking the Frigate and the Captain and winning a run with the Frigate[/p]
[p]Boats[/p]
  • [p]✨New Boat: The Frigate. A slow moving vessel that attacks super fast while stationary and applies immense knockback to enemies[/p]
  • [p]Attack Range levels now give 12% increase instead of 15%[/p]
[p]Crew[/p]
  • [p]✨New Crew Member: The Captain. Specializes in crew support, The Captain introduces custom crew promotion paths and buffed upgrades[/p]
  • [p]Racer New Ability: Evasive Maneuver. Gain 2% dodge chance per Steering level (replaces Overdrive)[/p]
  • [p]Maxed out crew bonus stats now swap to a bonus XP that fills 50% of your current level[/p]
  • [p]Fisherman/Big Game Hunter: Reduced damage increase against Elites from +30% to +20%.[/p]
  • [p]Gunner/Suppressor: Increased slowdown from 25% to 33%, from 3 seconds to 5 seconds[/p]
  • [p]Gunner/Reloader: Increased Attack Rate from 12% to 18%[/p]
  • [p]Otter/Claws: Increased Attack Rate from 12% to 18%[/p]
  • [p]Mechanic/Overhauler: Triple healing instead of double[/p]
  • [p]Biologist/Repeller: Increased knockback from +1 to +2[/p]
[p]Curses[/p]
  • [p]New Curse: Restless Riptide. Decreases preparation time between waves by 60%[/p]
  • [p]Perishing Plunder: Fixed a bug where coins would disappear much faster then they should[/p]
[p]Outposts[/p]
  • [p] Garage: The garage now offers stat upgrades for purchase. Level up healing radius increased to 0.2 units from 0.125, level up healing rate decreased to 0.13 seconds per level from 0.15 seconds per level, slightly increased level up pricing. The Garage was a bit underutilized, hopefully it'll get more love now![/p]
  • [p]Lighthouse: Crew Members now get introduced from left to right instead of randomly. Now you don't have to worry too much about your favorite crew member vanishing before you can hire them![/p]
[p]Weapons[/p]
  • [p]Spinner: The Spinner now deals damage every 0.1 seconds instead of on enemy hit only. Decreased Spinner rotation speed from 90>240 to 70>120. Increased Spinner size. The Spinner was garbage, hopefully it is no longer so![/p]
  • [p]Sniper: now unlocked by beating wave 10 with the Frigate[/p]
  • [p]Reworked knockback behavior[/p]
[p]Enemies[/p]
  • [p]Modified enemy knockback sensitivities[/p]
  • [p]Modified preparation times before boss fights[/p]
[p]Level[/p]
  • [p]Increased level size and changed rock edge shape to look more organic[/p]
  • [p]Flags no longer spawn beyond level area[/p]
  • [p]Items no longer get stuck inside islands[/p]
  • [p]Slightly increased cloud spawn rate[/p]
[p]Visuals[/p]
  • [p]Fixed an issue where cloud transparency wouldn't trigger properly when the player boat is behind it[/p]
  • [p]Added "New Best" in end game screen for when beating your previous waves/curse high[/p]
  • [p]Slightly modified the Renaissance color palette[/p]
  • [p]Added outline to curse icons appearing at the corner of the screen for better readability[/p]
[p]General[/p]
  • [p]Fixed an issue where coins would sometimes not get picked properly after using up a magnet[/p]
  • [p]Fixed an issue where best curse run would sometimes not save properly[/p]

For May's patch we have our first content pack, which features a new weapon, new enemy, balance updates, and Steam Cloud Saves!

[h2]Patch Notes[/h2]
Steam
  • Added Steam Cloud Saves
  • New Achievement: Min-Maxer: Max out a stat
  • New Achievement: Purist: Win a run with a single type of weapon
  • Updated graphics for a few achievement
Weapons
  • New Weapon: The Spinner. A rotating Tech weapon that blocks enemy projectiles. Upgrades increase rotation speed and damage. Gain second Spinner when maxed
  • Anchor: Multiple anchors now bounce off of each other. Increased base price from $22 to $23
  • Steering now adds 1° for homing weapons seeking cones per Steering °/second
  • Torpedo: base seeking angle: 160° (0 Steering)
  • Flaregun: base seeking angle: 140° (0 Steering)
  • Sniper: now unlocked by default
Enemies
  • New Enemy: Seahorse. A small fish-type wondering enemy that shoots slow-moving horizontal projectiles
  • Kraken: Decreased head maximum health by 4%. Decreased projectiles rate by 50%
  • Tentacle: Increased projectile speed from 3 to 3.25
  • Increased the number of Fish spawned in wave 19
  • Fixed an issue where enemy projectiles would sometimes behave inconsistently
Boats
  • Jeboat: increased base Fixing from 1 to 2, Increased base Attack Rate from 0 to 1. Now unlocks the Flaregun upon defeating wave 10.
  • Icebreaker: now unlocks The Spinner upon defeating wave 10
  • Yacht: now unlocks the Rifle upon defeating wave 10
Crew
  • Fisherman/Big Game Hunter: Reduced damage increase against Elites from +30% to +20%.
  • Otter/Carnivore: Reduced damage increase against Fish, Squids and Crustaceans from +25% to +20%
Visuals
  • New animation plays to show stat gained from random promotions
  • Changed coral designs to better read as corals
  • Updated Kraken ink puddle graphics
  • Added a reticle snap animation when moving between targets
  • Slightly modified the color palettes: Abyss, Sunset
  • Modified ordering of various sprites in scene for more consistency
  • Redesigned cargo pips for crew and weapons for better readability
  • Slightly modified aim visuals: Harpoon, Torpedo, Cannon
  • Updated Stat text and pips to be slightly lighter for better readability
  • Fixed a minor typo at the end game screen

For today's patch we have a new curse and a bunch of UI improvements.

[h2]Patch Notes[/h2]
  • Added a new curse: Perishing Plunder — Coins and drops now vanish after one minute. Grab ‘em while you can!
  • Stat level now appears as a number during gameplay and shows full value when the game is paused
  • Better menu navigation for a smoother controller experience
  • Active curses now display at the top-right corner of the screen
