1 Million Inhabitants!

[p]Today is the day it happened! Thanks to all of our player's fervorous building efforts, We have repopulated the world of Project Rebearth to 1 MILLION inhabitants! 🥳 To celebrate this milestone, and to get us to the next milestone of 10 million inhabitants faster, Project Rebearth will be partaking in the Steam Spring Sale which starts on the 19th of March. So if you were still hesitant about getting a copy for yourself, this might be your sign to join our living community. See you there 😃 [/p]

One Month of Project Rebearth

[p]What's up Project Rebearthers![/p][p]It still feels like yesterday but the world of Project Rebearth has been alive and spinning for a month now! I am happy to see that all of our hard work is paying off. My hard work as in, the server runs a lot more smoothly now, even with almost 500.000 objects to keep track of. And your hard work as in 500.000 objects filling this empty world with YOUR creativity, ambitions and lore![/p][p][/p][p]Here are some of the changes that you might have missed these past few weeks:[/p]
  • [p]Added finer rotation controls to be more precise in your building process[/p]
  • [p]Implemented player guidelines to better communicate what behavior is tolerated and what isn't[/p]
  • [p]Separating the settings into tabs for clarity, and to allow for further expansion of tweaks and knobs[/p]
  • [p]Made upkeep cost of towers incremental, so there is less risk of advanced players spamming towers. this should make expansion more linear when a town grows, rather than exponential[/p]
  • [p]Reduced upkeep of more expensive houses to make them more competitive[/p]
  • [p]Showing town names, instead of player names, on the market to increase immersion[/p]
  • [p]Added a button to fly to the town you are trading with[/p]
  • [p]Added a new panel where you can manage the production of all your buildings at once[/p]
  • [p]And many more![/p]
[p]Thank you all for being so welcoming to new players and making sure everyone is having a good time. Its truly a pleasure seeing this world come to life. And its heart warming to see the community come together and slowly fix the tool crisis! I can't wait for the first people build universities, start expeditions and uncover the lore of our empty planet... See you around![/p][p]Sam[/p]

Project Rebearth Two Weeks In!

[p]Hi All![/p][p]Two weeks have passed since the release of Project Rebearth, and what a fortnight it has been! More than 3,000 towns have been established, and more than 130,000 objects have been placed in our massive persistent world. Multiple metal and tool specializations have been set up, and thanks to our first glass producers and traders, town halls and universities are being built![/p][p][/p][p]You have definitely tested the limits of the game and the game server. Throughout this entire time, I have been actively listening to all of your feedback and implementing improvements as we go. Seeing what all of you are creating, and watching this community grow and discuss strategies, trades, and building projects is truly energizing. Of course, the experience wasn't always as smooth as I had hoped/planned, but I want to thank all of you for your patience and understanding.[/p][p]Here is a selection of the changes that were made over the past few weeks:[/p]
  • [p]Added a starter bonus, doubling the production of resources in the first 4 days to give starting towns a kick-start.[/p]
  • [p]Added a lot more help buttons and tooltips explaining the different elements of the game.[/p]
  • [p]Added in-game messaging to contact your neighboring towns, wherever they are.[/p]
  • [p]Drastically improved performance of both the game and the server (although hiccups can still be experienced when playing during peak hours).[/p]
  • [p]Added better indicators of when the connection is temporarily lost, and made sure the game picks right back up as soon as connection is restored.[/p]
  • [p]Improved the UI to better show the effects of certain buildings.[/p]
  • [p]Added road snapping to more easily align paths.[/p]
  • [p]Implemented a high-contrast mode for easier readability if desired.[/p]
  • [p]Created a wiki to centralize and document all features in the game (thanks to the amazing work of @East!).[/p]
  • [p]And so many more![/p]
[p]The community that is growing around Project Rebearth and its world is astonishing. I especially love the spinoff projects coming out of this, such as the population tracker and the dedicated pages for players to add lore to their own towns, both by @Unblockabl.[/p][p]Thank you all for making this game come alive![/p][p]Sam[/p]
