The Lovecraftian Days 2025 playtest is live!

One year ago, we unveiled the very first playtest of Pool of Madness during Lovecraftian Days - after just a month of development. With LD 2025 upon us, it felt like the perfect opportunity to showcase the latest playtest. So here we are!
Some of the features:
• a short introductory ritual for new players

 • initial foundations for a boss fight (early WIP) and ritual progression mechanics

 • item viewing mechanics and first interactive items (look around the room from time to time)

 • many under-the-hood improvements and bugfixes

Thank you to Fulqrum Publishing for shining a light on our games and charity efforts!

As always, all feedback is welcome - leave us a comment on our Steam forums or
discord - it will help us improve the game!

Please note that this is an early playtest and bugs are still to be expected!

PS Don't forget to check out the totems (the eye-in-hand things) - they add another fun layer to the
gameplay!

WHAT IS THIS ABOMINATION?

Think Inscryption meets Diablo/PoE meets a twisted game of pool. A unique experience with lots of mystery, emergent gameplay and endless replayability. That's the goal for the full version of the game.

While this is the first stab at a PoM multiplayer mode and we expect A LOT to change, we feel it's already fun and we could really use your feedback as we continue building Pool of Madness into our dream game.

This is definitely one of our favourite projects we've worked on and the most unique one, so it's great to see players already appreciating the core features!

PS It works great on Steam Deck!

CHANGELOG

Changes from the previous limited playtest include:
- a hotseat coop mode featuring a new totem
- new powerups
- completely new UI (still WIP, similarly to other features)
- premium pockets (that will feature increasing modifiers later down the line)
- many bugfixes

WHAT'S NEXT?

We're currently focusing on making the gameplay as much fun as possible, testing out different ideas and features, as well as working on the story in parallel. This is why these imperfect playtests are so important, as they allow us to gather feedback from players around the world while the game is still in development.

Things will be rough for a while in terms of the overall presentation, until we're satisfied with the gameplay part and implement & test various features, then we'll begin focusing more on the audiovisual side of things.

Thank you for taking the time to check out this crazy abomination our eldritch baby of a game! We think we have something really special here - we'd love you to help us shape it!

Halloween Demo OUT NOW - grab a broomstick and play some spooky pool!

After releasing Dagon: CE on consoles, we couldn't wait to jump back into Pool of Madness and play around with some new things, including new mechanics. Long story short, this resulted in the Halloween Demo of our Lovecraftian roguelite pool.

Make sure to give it a spin while it's available - we've had a lot of fun developing and playtesting it and it has that spooky/cosy vibe that's perfect for Halloween!

Dagon: Complete Edition - just launched on consoles together with a new timed exclusive DLC!

Fellow scholars of all things forbidden!

"Dagon: by H. P. Lovecraft" turned out to be very successful, with over 1,700,000 downloads on Steam and 95% positive reviews. When the war broke out in Ukraine, we decided to donate all of our proceeds generated by the game and DLCs to humanitarian aid organisations, such as Voices of Children.

To thank the players for their support in this endeavour and all the positive responses, we've decided to create a brand new DLC - What The Moon Brings.

Today it premieres on consoles as a timed exclusive, together with the base game and all the DLCs, in the eldritch form of Dagon: Complete Edition. You can get it in the official shops:

If you're a console player, consider grabbing a copy! And to answer a question we've been often asked on our social media: if you prefer to game on PC, we plan to release What The Moon Brings there as well at some point in the future.

We've always received a lot of support from this community, even before the initial launch, when we gathered feedback to improve the first raw versions, so thank you and hope you'll like the new DLC!
