After the previous early demo we disappeared into the depths in order to emerge yet again, with a new limited time version of Pool of Madness for your eldritch pleasure! Give it a spin and let us know what you think!

Pool of Madness Endless Replayability Fest Demo - major updates:
  • updated graphics, visibility & high resolution
  • rewritten physics
  • new feature: ability to freeze the ball (check Help), making the gameplay more dynamic and unique
  • new phase, power bar, explosion & blood marks and other smaller changes!

The first super early demo was a huge success, resulting in 11,000 wishlists and a very enthusiastic response from players, which was an awesome surprise! We've used your feedback to introduce some updates to the game and plan to do the same with the current demo, so we'll really appreciate all your opinions (here on our Steam forum, Twitter or Discord!).

Please note that Pool of Madness is very much a work in progress and we're working on improving every aspect of the game. We're sharing an updated demo so we can continue gathering feedback from players early and shape the game together.

It's not every day you get to use both the 'sports' and 'horror' tags for the same game. Pool of Madness, an upcoming eldritch pool game where your surroundings get more bizarre and maddening the longer you play, is the latest game to crowbar Lovecraft into a place where no Lovecraft existed previously. It’s also the latest game to make me, someone who’s ostensibly had enough Lovecraft for one lifetime think: actually, yes, go on then.

This demo for a Lovecraftian pool roguelike is my new Steam obsession

Just like how Balatro turns poker on its head and into a roguelike masterpiece, the new Pool of Madness Steam demo could do the same for, well, pool. With a simple ruleset, unnerving Lovecraftian imagery, and mechanics that kept me coming back in between writing the paragraphs of this article, the free demo shows a lot of promise for a brilliant idea, and you'll want to download it fast.
