KILL THE WITCH's Tumblbug funding will begin on 2025-03-21 9:00(KST)!

We realize that participating in the funding and accessing information outside of Korea can be difficult.
That's why we've summarized the information on this page.

*Even if the funding is completely unsuccessful, the game will still be developed to the end!

March 21st (KST): Funding Start Date
April 21 (KST): Funding End Date
May 10: Private Discord goes live
In July: Beta testing via private discord
In September: Early access to Stage 2
Q1/2026 - Q2/2026: Full Release up to Stage 6

Our current anticipated development timeline is as shown above.
For Discord, we plan to open it privately to “Digital Deluxe” and higher backers in our funding,
and then open it to the public at the start of Early Access in September.

[h3]SnakeEagle?[/h3]

I'm a big fan of Nietzsche's “Thus Spake Zarathustra”.
It's a fascinating book that I can't stop reading even though I'm not sure what it means.

In the book, the 'snake' and 'eagle' are Zarathustra's animals
and are metaphors for 'wisdom' and 'pride' respectively.

So [ SnakeEagle ] means 'wisdom with pride'.
It also stands for the eternal return: “Live your life so that it's something you'd want to repeat forever."


What's with the crying bug in the middle of the logo?
That's me, you, and our decadent selves just shaking like, “What is that, I'm scared."

Well, who cares about game company logos and philosophies.
As long as the game is fun, anything goes.

[h3]Closing thoughts[/h3]
It's been a year since we released the store and demo.
We've come a long way in that time, thanks to your support and feedback.

We'll continue to do our best to make it fun and exciting.

Updated Demo v0.5.5 !



Hello!
This is the SnakeEagle team that makes games!

In this 0.5.5 release, we've listened to some of your feedback and made adjustments to camera shake and movement.
We've also fixed a few more bugs that remained.

And...
We will be crowdfunding in Korea on Tumblbug starting March 21, 2025 (KST)!
The Tumblbug page will go live tomorrow, March 14th (KST)!

We'll be revealing new information about KILL THE WITCH!
Unique merchandise, sneak peeks at Stage 2 in development, future plans, and more!

We realize that it will be difficult to participate in the crowdfunding outside of Korea,
so we'll summarize the information for you.

Stages
- We've made some adjustments to the stages.

For example.
- Adjusted the strength of camera shake during home runs.
- Adjusted the movement of the camera while traveling to be a little smoother.

Bugs
- Fixed a bug where items would sometimes go through the floor.
- Fixed a bug where letterboxes would leave an afterimage.

*If you've updated correctly, you should see v0.5.5 in the bottom right corner of the main screen.
If you don't see it, please uninstall and reinstall the game.

We've updated the demo once more based on your feedback and data from both offline and online!

Little by little, but KILL THE WITCH is definitely getting better than before.
And it's all thanks to you.

-Fine-tuned the range and timing of the top attack
-Better effects for the third attack
-Enhanced effects during transformation

Stages
-Fixed monsters to appear in front of 'Will'
-Changed to make some attacks less likely to knock the player back
-Added an indicator for the item being read
-Fixed logic where bombs would disappear as soon as they became invisible
-Improved some stage structure
-Fixed wording in the top attack tutorial

Other
-Improved gamepad controls
-Added small detail elements

Boss
-Removed post processing from stage 1 boss phase 3
-Improved visibility of smoke effects in stage 1 boss phases 2 and 3

Bugs
-Fixed a bug where players would occasionally freeze during jump attacks
-Fixed a bug where pressing “next” during the prologue Yonah's story would cause the text to skip ahead

-Adjusted some map structures.

Boss
-Modified Stage 1 boss Phase 1 so that the "small dogs" appear in front of the effects.

Bugs
-Fixed a bug where the player's attack actions and effects would misalign after transformation.
-Mitigated an issue where the player would occasionally freeze under certain conditions.
-Resolved a bug where sound effects would persist after the player reverted from transformation under specific conditions.

Others
-Changed the keyboard key-setting popup to close automatically if no input is detected for 5 seconds.
-Improved some simplified Chinese translations.
-Improved some traditional Chinese translations.

-Changed to prevent 'Crawling bug' from changing direction while attacking.

Other.
-Changed to allow attacking with the 'R1' button on the gamepad.
-Changed to no longer use the D-Pad to move on the gamepad.
(*If you already have a save file, please reset it once by connecting the gamepad and pressing 'Default' in the Key Settings option).

- Added sfx when the transformation gauge is full
- Prevented direction change during jump attacks
- Slightly increased attack speed of upper attack & jump attack in normal state
- Slightly increased normal attack range in normal state
- Significantly increased normal attack range in transformed state
- Changed attacks to knock back enemies slightly less

Bosses
- Prevented unintentional flips by blocking input for 0.5 seconds when entering dialog cutscenes

Stages
- Changed the reaction time of the “jump pad” to be faster

- Some fine detail adjustments

- Fixed some Chinese font application errors
