SMYS Classic - Special Yumyums & Focus Pacing

SMYS Classic v1.1.00

From now on, every once in a while a special yumyum will spawn. Pay extra attention to those as they grant 3 points to your team instead of the usual 1.

I hope this will bring further competitivity to the game as well as focus pacing.

The spawn rate for these special yumyums is currently 5 percent, but that will eventually change base on community feedback so don't be shy and make yourself heard if you think the spawn rate is either too low or too high.

An Endless Feature Creeping Story

Back in 2019 when we first designed SMYS : Show Me Your Stairs, it was quite different from what it is today.

The game had no bonuses, no minigames, no collection system, no games modes, and it was entirely focused on the stairs building aspect. It was quite a simple game but happened to grow into something way bigger than what we planned for.

This is why I eventually decided to publish a 'Classic' version of the game, the game almost as we first designed it.

Here is a look at one of the first concept art we made for the game :

And here is a screenshot from the Classic version today :

It looks similar to the main game mode from the final version of the project, but plays different. There is a lot more strategy that comes into play as both collecting items and building stairs happen at the same time, which adds a resource management aspect to the game.

Also compared to the first design, and as we added bonuses to the final version, I decided to keep some of them in the Classic version, including : Bomb, Upside Down, Smoke Bomb, Items Generation, and Structural Reinforcement. Not having them in the game seemed like missing on so much fun and we might have had them added to the game anyway so here you have it.

Shared Costumes DLC

The Classic version featuring way less content than the final version I decided to release it for free.
However, if you enjoy the game and would like to support us into its further development I encourage you to either get the Costumes DLC or the final version of the game.

Note that the Costumes DLC is available for both the Classic version and the final version, DONT BUY IT TWICE. This DLC is shared between both games and owning it for either versions grants you access to the DLC content in BOTH games.
