Hello everyone! Thanks for staying active in Doll Impostor!
Update 14 is ready! This update was planned to be a Medium update, however, the integration of some features like Matchmaking makes it a major update due to all the technical work behind it! Originally, contracts were going to be the core of this update, but they pale in comparison to the Matchmaking system.

- April 24th available for official content creators (Closed beta)
- April 25th available for everyone (Open beta)
- April 28th available for everyone
Even though this is a major update, there will be no trailer.
Before we start explaining the Update, I want to remind everyone where the idea for Matchmaking came from. A Doll Impostor tournament was being prepared — it was going to be the first tournament where several players competed for a prize. It couldn't happen due to missing players, mainly because of timezone issues. Some very active users are located all over the world — America, Europe, Asia — which made scheduling matches impractical. After that, I started playing 1v1 matches with players in the daily challenges, and it turned out to be really fun. So I decided to create a Matchmaking system so everyone could play 1v1 in a more legitimate, competitive, and fair way. Daily challenges could be unfair because one player might get revealing clues early while the other doesn't. That's why in Matchmaking we’ve introduced a "Seed" — this seed ensures that both players get an Impostor with the same friends (in the same order) and same likes/dislikes, even though the dolls will conveniently look different. Because it's not about the doll's skin (whether it's Daniel or Ivy), but about solving the clues despite the appearance. So welcome Matchmaking to Doll Impostor! This feature is still evolving and we’re testing how exciting/addictive it is. Many users are skeptical, but that’s normal — the same happened with the Cabin map and the Career mode, and both ended up being fan favorites. In the end, it’s all about trying new mechanics and experiences to keep things fun!
Matchmaking
Let’s start with Matchmaking. This mode unlocks once you've completed Nightmare mode on all maps. After that, you can search for matches on the maps of your choice. These are asynchronous matches — you can play your match and leave it unfinished. Another player will later join and be matched with you. The winner is the one who solves the case in the least amount of time.

Important notes:
1. Elo works like a bet — you wager Elo to play (generally 10%, unless you’re below the minimum which guarantees at least 1 Elo even at 0 Elo).
2. You can only have up to 5 unfinished matches.
3. If your match doesn’t get paired within 48 hours, it will end and your Elo will be refunded.
4. Matches only occur when the opponent’s Elo is within ±100% of your current Elo (e.g., if you’re Elo 10, you’ll match with players between Elo 5 and 20). Otherwise, a new match will be created. [This limit may increase to 200%, 500% if there are no matches.]
5. Once a match is paired, Player 2 has a maximum of 30 minutes to complete the match. If they don't, they lose by inactivity (e.g., exiting the game or abandoning the match).
6. Elo is awarded after each match. You lose Elo for each match, with a 5 match cap to avoid high Elo players being matched with very low Elo.
7. There are matchmaking ranks tied to Elo, with 3000 Elo being the highest rank (The Awakening).

Current matchmaking ranks are:

Each rank requires more Elo. You can drop ranks by playing since Elo is wagered, but you can regain Elo and even steal Elo from other players.
Contracts
You now have contracts available on your desktop. This new element gives you 3 random contracts that offer rewards in exchange for completing them. For example, you may be asked to complete the House map on Normal difficulty before 6 AM with/without the robot active. Generally, they follow a pattern: the harder it is, the more money and XP you earn. Once a contract is completed, a new one appears. Contracts cannot be canceled (they disappear when you leave the game) so they are temporary.
