Darkchaser: Battletide Developer Log 01:

Hello everyone, we are We are the development team of Darkchaser: Battletide, and we are thrilled to share with you our first game, Darkchaser: Battletide.

Survivors-like,a game genre that has suddenly become popular in the last two years, features simple and straightforward gameplay, low production difficulty, but is quite interesting to play. For a small indie studio like us, choosing this type of game as our first project is quite reasonable.

In this developer log, we want to talk about the journey of creating Darkchaser: Battletide and how we view the survivors-like genre.

About half a year ago, when we were thinking about the design pillars of the game, we came across a question: "Besides bullet shooting, what else can we add to a survivors-like game?"

With this question in mind, in the early stages of game creation, we decided to leave more space for creativity in the game system, anticipating the addition of more different genres and constructions later on, making the gameplay not limited to bullets.

When the first internal demo of the game was released in last Novemberr, the space deliberately left by us only continuously increased the difficulty of fixing bugs (a bitter laugh). But later, as the summoning, building, and other skill systems were supplemented, we increasingly felt that these blanks were meaningful. At least they really allowed us to break free from the constraints of bullet shooting.

Besides, we have also done many other things, such as various genres, character talent trees, etc., all of which will be unveiled in subsequent developer logs!

The game is about to meet everyone in Early Access, and of course, we are also prepared to continue developing and providing updates after EA launch. After the store page opens, we expect a long time to perfect the game, looking forward to seeing more feedback and suggestions from you in the future. In subsequent developer logs, we will also timely sync the current development progress and answer your questions.
