Undermere Herald - May Edition | Meet Some Of Our Occult Locals
Dear reader,
Welcome to the May edition of the Undermere Herald - the most trustworthy news source for Undermere and its surroundings.

We don’t know what it is about Undermere, but something about our quaint little town attracts people seeking the thrill of the unknown. Some are adventurers, some are researchers - all have a hand in a world that few of us are familiar with. A world that lies behind dark curtains and buried in cold tombs.

In this month’s edition of the Herald, our reporters had a chat with some of our more esoteric inhabitants. You can read about their work, their connection to the occult… and maybe a sentence or two about the content of their character.

Few in Undermere deserve the title ‘thrillseeker’ more than Barton Potter. A self-styled Relic Hunter, Potter has traversed the peaks of our hills and the depths of our catacombs, in search of the unusual and the arcane. He will gladly tell anyone who asks the story of how he lost the sight in his left eye, but it is never clear how much is true and how much is embellished to suit the ear of the listener.

Only the more unfortunate among you will be familiar with Dr. Francesca Robertson. She is not a doctor in the traditional sense… After a family tragedy, Dr. Robertson started looking for answers beyond the traditional textbooks, becoming one of the region’s foremost experts on occult maladies. When Noctic Sight invades your dreams or Morgan’s Insanity threatens to unpick your hold on reality, Dr. Robertson is the person you most want on your side.

To say that Undermere would look very different without Verona Green would be an understatement. The Occult Scholar is an esteemed member of our community. Kind and humble, yes, but sharp of mind and not someone to underestimate. It is hard to imagine a more fitting figurehead for our town, but she would never accept a position of governance.

These are but a handful of our most arcanely attuned townsfolk. As we delve deeper into the mysteries that surround us, we invite you to reflect on the unseen threads that may connect you to the world behind the veil. We’d be curious to read about your connection to the occult in a reader’s letter!
