Southeast Asian Games Showcase - Summer 2025

Heyyo, CraftedCircuitry here!

Deep Dark Wrath joins the Southeast Asian Games Showcase, and will be on a historically low 40% Sale ($2.99 instead of $4.99) this Summer! Also, here's some little tidbits of the upcoming Frost Flower expansion as the light at the end of this frosty tunnel is nearing!

The 40% Sale will only start from June 13th. Wishlist the game so you're updated!

Southeast Asian Games Showcase (June 6th to June 20th)

I'm a Filipino, born and raised in the hot and humid tropics of the Philippines, so I decided to join the SEAGS with Deep Dark Wrath! Check out the other hot and cool games showcased on the SEAGS Steam Sale Page, the many upcoming games, many cool demos to try out, and of course, tons of good deals to look out for!

Final Polishing

There's only a few things left until the v3.0 Frost Flower expansion is ready to be released. I've done a lot more optimizations as the game tanked pretty badly after I added the 3 new Frozen Areas.

The final cutscene has been done but its still needs some iterating so I can make the point come across better. This was also the case with the cutscene of the base Oracle Card goal, I had to pretty much scrap the entire thing back then. But because of that, I made it even better (at least for what I want it to be).

Looking Back

All things must come to an end at some point. I had a lot of fun with Deep Dark Wrath, and I'll continue to play it from time to time during my travels. Thank you for the support since I've announced and released this game. It's been a bit of a dream to get this thing out, so I'm extremely happy to finally finish essentially everything about Deep Dark Wrath. If you've played it, I hope you enjoyed as well.

v3.0 Expansion Progress

Heyyo, CraftedCircuitry here! Gonna quickly dish out some updates on Deep Dark Wrath, and its future expansion update, v3.0!

v3.0? What is it?

If you haven't read my devlogs before, the idea was to follow the path Monster Hunter games usually do.

Base Game Release > Events > Big Expansion > Events

The final Events part(like v2.0 Depth Challenger) might not happen anymore, but the Big Expansion is something I'm steadfastly building up for. It's looking real nice so far so here's some GIFs of what is to come.

You'll have access to new Moves and new Ways to Attack in this Expansion. Make sure to explore them all once you get to the Expansion after the 7th Oracle Appraisal!

Of course, new Enchanted Cards, new Effects, and new Powers will be achievable with the Expansion. An idea I had before was to combine Cards with similar traits(Shadow, Fireballs, etc.) and give them like a Set Bonus when you have enough. Instead, singular Cards you can get do such combination on their own.

New Types of Enemies will be coming to the Expansion! Outside of the usual tankier enemies and stronger attacks, new types of attacks will become more apparent and will need you to be ready to take on what's to come!

Selected for Indie Assemble

A quick little intermission, Deep Dark Wrath got selected to join the Indie Assemble Sale happening this early May! Still waiting on more details on the sale but if you've been on the fence on Deep Dark Wrath, that's the time you can get it!

Expansion, will there be a Price?

Unlike MonHun's Bigger Expansions being a separate release or a separate DLC, this is a Free Update. So you can just download it when it releases and you'll be able to get everything in the Expansion!

However, it has been busy. I was hoping to get the update done by the anniversary, 2025 May 27th, but the outside stuff has been pretty hectic. So I'll be pushing the update for June. This should give me more time to let it sit and try it out more, and see if I can polish it as much as I can. This will be the final big update for Deep Dark Wrath, so I do wanna end this with the best I can do.

That's it for now, this has been CraftedCircuitry signing off for now.

v2.9.9 - Fury Flower Major Content Update

Heyyo, CraftedCircuitry again with another update to Deep Dark Wrath! This is a snippet of the v3.0 update(hence the jump from v2.2 to v2.9). So, this will feature some of the mechanics that would be added for v3.0. With this, I may be able to fully complete the v3.0 update in the near future.
I also decided to remake the Safe Area’s music. It’s not the best, but I feel much much better with this compared to the previous Safe Area music so I hope you do give it a listen.

Changelog

Added
  • Firebrand Task and Furious Tasks
  • The Mysterious Construct and Fusing of Enchanted Cards
  • Frosted Enchanted Cards
  • New Enchanted Cards
  • Spring-themed Sword Skins and 2 New Sword Skin in a different color
  • Armor Trims, and 3 Android-exclusive Armor Trims
Updated
  • On the Android version, the Touchscreen buttons become more transparent when an Xbox or Playstation controller is used
  • Background Music for the Safe Area remade
Fixed
  • When loading from a Backup, Buttons on Rebinding do not automatically update
  • Fixed Silent Swings adding more time than the base Wrath Anger timer
  • Fixed Refresh going over Level 5 due to some Cards giving Refresh Points
  • Fixed Spawning of a Caves Area Skeleton
  • Minor Bugfixes
Furious Tasks

A very recent idea of mine as I was playing Monster Hunter Rise, and discovered its Special License Quests to more easily progress through the story. While on paper, the Oracle Piece rewards the Task gives makes progressing through the game easier, the Furious Tasks are orders of magnitude harder.

Furious Collector and Furious Plunderer forces the Wrath to be angered immediately while Furious Explorer forces you to not be in Point Protection. All 3 needing you to do various collecting and conquering to get the coveted Oracle Pieces as rewards.

You might also get something special once you’ve completed all 3. Who knows?

Firebrand Task and The Construct

An augmentation of the idea I had before the Adventurer may be allowed to use The Construct. This task will force you to go through the entire Dungeon finding Wandering Flames in order to open The Construct hidden in the Bewildering Ruins.

The Construct will then allow you to open up interesting choices for your build, allowing you to fuse Permanent, Instant, and Veil Cards into 1 powerful Enchanted Card.

Frosted Enchanted Cards

(not available in the Safe Area, the GIF is just showcasing what it does)

Products of fused Enchanted Cards, these are denoted by frosty icons on the Enchanted Card.
They also give out the effect Frost Fortification, which seems to not have any effect on the Adventurer. Maybe the v3.0 Update might shed some light on this effect?

Armor Trims, Sword Skins, and BGM Updates

A new appearance option in the Options, these are placed on top of the Adventurer giving the Adventurer more options in how they look. Of course, I’m gonna give a lot of options, and PC users can up their options with the included template to make your own!
  • Leaf Suit (Spring and Autumn versions)
  • Floral and Flower (Spring)
  • Santa Hat (Winter)
  • And more!

As always, coupling this update are new Sword Skins themed around Spring, plus a few more like the Violet Broadsword! As mentioned, the Background Music for the Safe Area was also remade with the update. It’s a little bit more than 4 chords looped now xD.

Snippets of the Future

I didn’t think I had the drive or time to do these updates, but here we are. v3.0 is essentially in sight. It’s still a long way to go though. Frosted Enchanted Cards are a bit more balanced for the content packed into v3.0, so I tried to make fusing of Frosted Cards a little bit more tedious (only 5-7 per Run) with this iteration.

I’m a bit happy with this so far, looking forward to getting more time to do more game development as it has been busier on my end.

That’s all for now. Looking forward to what kind of ideas you make for Card builds with the Frosted Cards, and what kind of designs you try with the Armor Trims, Sword Skins, and Plume Color. This has been CraftedCircuitry, signing off for now.

v2.2.5 - Quick Fix for Steam Deck Cloud Save Compatibility

Heyyo, adventurers! Just a quick change in the Steam Cloud settings to make sure that Steam Deck users can get their Cloud Save! There is no downloads needed with this as far as I know.

[EDIT: 2025-03-12]

Using Steam Deck's Proton, the files of Deep Dark Wrath are in:
.local/share/Steam/steamapps/compatdata/2891520/pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/AppData/Roaming/CraftedCircuitry

The backup files from the Save Journal are saved here:
.local/share/Steam/steamapps/compatdata/2891520/pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/Downloads

I had no real clue of how Steam Deck/Linux works and had no previous plans on supporting them. I did kinda hope at least the Downloads folder used the actual Linux Downloads folder instead of a compatibility with Proton.

Once I release v3.0, I may look into proper Linux + SteamOS support!
