Devlog #4: The game's enemies & Paris Games Week Recap

Hey everyone,
[p]First of all, sorry for the long silence.
Our last community post was months ago, we really lost track of time. Development has been moving fast, and while that’s a good problem to have, communication definitely slipped out of our mind. Thanks for sticking with us despite that. ❤️ [/p][p][/p]
Paris Games Week – Thank You!
[p]Back in October we had a booth at Paris Games Week, where we had the chance to let a lot of people get hands-on with AI.VI, and the response honestly exceeded our expectations.[/p][p]Hundreds of players stopped by to test the game, give feedback, and break it live before us. Seeing people engage with the combat, strategy and humour was super motivating. A big shoutout to those that game back multiple days in a row to beat every level. Your comments directly helped us refine the experience afterward.[/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]If you came by the booth: thank you.
[/p]
Where Development Is At
[p]Since then, we’ve been deep in the final stages of development.[/p][p]A lot of our time has been spent polishing systems, fixing edge cases, refining pacing, and making sure everything feels cohesive from start to finish. The game is very much coming together, and while that intense focus helped push things forward, it’s also the reason updates slowed down more than we’d like.[/p][p]That’s on us — and we’re aiming to do better going forward.
[/p]
Let's talk about enemies
[p]Last time we updated you on the game, we had discussed the Constructions, Weapons and Elemental Skills of the game. Now its time to discuss the foe you'll be facing.

You'll be facing the terrible P.A.S.C.A.L.! A megacorporation that colonises planets for their ressources, and to help with that, they've got armed forces. Here are a few presented to you: [/p][p][/p]
Troopers
[p]These guys don't look too bright, and frankly they really aren't, but their weak hardware also makes them cheap to produce, so tons can be sent out. As the basic grunts they have a few variations you'll see as the game progresses. [/p][p][/p][p][/p][p][/p]
Arachnobots
[p]Fast and small! These buggers come in swarms to overrun key locations. Their mobility lets them crawl through fast paces and walk over uneven terrain. [/p][p][/p][p][/p][p][/p]
Brutes
[p]When locals show resistance, these are the guys that are sent out. Their strong armour makes them hard to take down. Be on your guard when you see them, or you might get hit by their lasers. [/p][p][/p]
Slashers
[p]Where Brutes are good at handling weakly armed mobs, these slashers are expert at manhunts. Once you are called their target, they will not stop running until your body has been sliced up.[/p][p][/p][p][/p][p][/p]
Dividers
[p]These huge colossi resist elements thanks to their specially equipped heads. Even worse, when you destroy the main body, they split and keep their advance going! Stay on your guard even when you think you've destroyed them, as even just small heads can be a nuisance.

[/p][p][/p]
What’s Next
[p]We’re nearing the point where things stop changing dramatically. More details soon, and this time we’ll make sure not to disappear for months again.[/p][p]Thanks to everyone that has shown us their support throughout the development! [/p]
