Howdy folks and welcome!
We’re here today to talk about Dice Collections in Armello and what the current plan is. Grab yourself a cup of tea and let’s get into it.
As many of you are aware, it’s been some time since a new Dice Collection has landed in Armello, and that basically comes down to us prioritising other features within the game, such as our sweet, sweet Dragon friends. Right now our sights are set on bringing consoles up to speed with v2.0, The Dragon Clan and everything in between. We’re making great progress on that but it’s a pretty large undertaking that’ll use most of Armello’s dev resources for the immediate future.
That means we don’t have a new dice collection in the immediate development pipeline, so we’re switching things up a little, and travelling back in time. On
November 14th,
Collection 8 - Mountain’s Hoard will rotate out and
Collection 1 - Wyld’s Bounty will rotate in.
That leaves you with TWO MORE WEEKS to wrap up any loose ends in the Mountain’s Hoard collection. From here we expect to strike a two month rotation cadence, so in mid-January you can expect Collection 2 to be introduced, mid-March you can expect Collection 3 and so on and so forth. As with all things, this is subject to review and revision if we make another collection.
For those who have been around for quite some time, you’ll remember that things were a little different when this collection was active in 2016 - but rest assured the modern chest system reigns eternally supreme and will apply to older collections, including keyless chests and skin fragments.
Disruption Chest
This is also a great time to mention that we’ve snuck a cool feature into the build that HOPEFULLY you’re not aware of. Now, if we detect that your game has softlocked in an NMA (No More Actions) state, a chest of the currently active collection will be granted to you. Please note that our NMA rates are some of the lowest they’ve
ever been, so hopefully you never experience this feature, but trust us, it’s there and working.
Naturally there’s a risk that a feature like this can be abused by malicious individuals. After all, Armello has been a target of Steam Inventory farming schemes since we integrated it. Anyone found attempting to abuse this system in
any way will be banned to the multiplayer-less abyss. If this feature significantly impacts the quality of online play in any way we have the ability to turn it off without even pushing a patch, so be good and kind citizens. As always, if you see something odd, please report it through the in-game bug sender.
