Season 2 Full Overview

[p]After Arena Reloaded launched, we spent a lot of time listening. We read your feedback, watched how you played, and paid close attention to what the community was asking for. We did not want to rush Season 2 out the door. We wanted to make sure it went in the right direction.[/p][p]That process shaped everything you are about to read. Season 2 brings back one of the most requested maps from the original Splitgate, rebuilt and polished for Arena Reloaded. It introduces a brand-new arena designed from the ground up, a power weapon that changes the way fights play out, and a beloved experience from the original game that the community has been asking us to bring back since launch. Arena Royale gets its most dangerous biome event yet along with Duos for the first time, and a new Battle Pass brings over 100 items tied to one of our most ambitious seasonal themes yet.[/p][p]We packed a lot into this one, and we are excited to walk through all of it. Season 2 arrives March 27th at 12 noon PT (downtime at 10am PT), see you there![/p][p][/p][previewyoutube][/previewyoutube]
The Theme: Space Smugglers
[p]Every season needs an identity. For Season 2, we wanted something that matched the energy of the game itself: fast, bold, and a little reckless (at times). That led us to space smugglers and relic hunters, characters who show up to the arena with a ship they probably should not have with something to prove. We want you to think Indiana Jones, but in space, with portals![/p][p][/p]
Foregone Destruction
[p]This is the map the community has been asking for since Arena Reloaded launched. We saw the requests, we heard you, and we wanted to make sure that when Foregone Destruction came back, it came back right.[/p][p]Foregone Destruction returns with improved lighting, and launch portals built for momentum. The layout is exactly what fans remember, just sharper and more explosive.[/p][p][/p][p][/p]
Containment
[p]Alongside bringing back a classic, we wanted to build something entirely new. A map designed from the ground up specifically for Arena Reloaded. Containment is small, fast, and relentlessly chaotic, it is designed to keep the action non-stop from the opening second. Every sightline matters and every portal placement is a decision.[/p][p][/p]
New Power Weapon: Orion Plasma Rifle
[p]We have been thinking about what a new power weapon should feel like in Arena Reloaded for a while. We did not want something that just did more damage. We wanted a weapon that changed the way a fight plays out, something with a moment of tension built into it.[/p][p]The Orion Plasma Rifle is Season 2's answer to that. The primary fire is lethal on its own, but hold the secondary to charge up and release a massive ball of plasma damage. Patient players will be rewarded with a lethal plasma blast! Check out our tweet with the full walkthrough below:[/p][p]https://x.com/Splitgate/status/2035127627330019680[/p][p][/p]
Races
[p]If you played the original Splitgate you will know just how loved Races are in the community. It is one of those modes that sounds simple and then you lose three hours to it. At least we could! Bringing it into Arena Reloaded was one of the most requested features from the community, and something we have been wanting to do since launch.[/p][p]Races is a time trial mode where players collect numbered Race Balls across the map in order, as fast as possible. Your time is tracked by a personal stopwatch, stats are saved, and a live in-game leaderboard tracks times across each map. Movement and portal mastery are rewarded, and it might be the purest expression of what Splitgate movement feels like at its best.[/p][p]The part we are most excited about is that Races is fully supported in The Lab. This was important to us because we did not just want to ship the mode, we wanted to give the community the tools to make it their own. Players can build their own courses, share them with friends and communities, and see how you stack up on the leaderboard (yes, even The Lab maps will have Races leaderboards!). We are launching official courses on standard arena maps, but we are equally as excited to see what the community creates.[/p][p][/p]
Inferno Erupts (Arena Royale Biome)
[p]Arena Royale has been evolving since it launched in Update 2.2, and with Season 2 we wanted to push what a biome event could feel like. We did not just want to bring Inferno back, we wanted to make it dangerous in a way it has never been before, and add some mechanics not seen yet in Arena Reloaded.[/p][p]The volcano is now active and giant volcanic rocks rain from the sky mid-match, dealing damage to anyone caught in the open. The biome returns with layout changes on top of the new hazard, so every rotation is a risk and every circle close hits harder than before. Inferno was already one of the most intense biomes in Arena Royale, and now it is on a completely different level. Inferno also was optimized for both performance and size, which were some of the reasons it was removed from the pool in the first place[/p][p][/p]
Arena Royale Duos
[p]For the first time, players now enter Arena Royale as a two-player team. Duos has been one of the most consistent community requests since Arena Royale launched, and Season 2 felt like the right moment to deliver it. It brings a different dynamic to the mode with tighter coordination, faster decision-making, and a new way to experience everything Arena Royale has to offer.[/p][p][/p]
Season 2 Battle Pass
[p]Over 100 items including all-new weapon skins, character skins, emotes, and more, all tied to the Season 2 space smuggler theme. The cosmetics this time around match the ambition of the season.[/p][p]The Ultra Battle Pass can now be purchased with Splitcoin. If you have been holding on to your Splitcoin, now is the time.[/p][p][/p]
Casual Leaderboards
[p]We are excited to share that Casual Leaderboards will be live with Season 2. Players can now track (via Career, Leaderboards, Stats) various casual stats across arena modes and Arena Royale and compare them globally to other players. Some of the stats tracked:[/p]
 • [p]Royale WIns[/p]
 • [p]MVPs[/p]
 • [p]Kills[/p]
 • [p]Portal Flank Kills[/p]
 • [p]Portal Kills[/p]
 • [p]Teabags[/p][p][/p]
Looking Ahead
[p]Between Foregone Destruction returning, Races finally making its way into Arena Reloaded with full Lab support, and Arena Royale continuing to evolve with Duos and the reimagining of Inferno, we feel really good about where this season lands. We have heard the requests for more events, and are excited to share that Season 2 will bring even more limited time events with their own unique rewards![/p][p]We can’t wait for you to get your hands on all of it. Season 2 launches Friday, March 27. Full patch notes: [/p][p]https://www.splitgate.com/news/season-2-patch-notes[/p][p][/p][p]See you in the arena![/p]
