Greetings, Inkborns! 🙂 Inkborn’s next major milestone is now set. Act 3 is officially locked for release on November 27, landing roughly three weeks from today. Expect new spooky location, bringing fresh enemies, tougher encounters, and mechanics designed to test your evolving decks and strategies. Expect new challenges, new twists, and a meaningful expansion to the world you have been exploring through Early Access. 👻



With the Act 3 update, Difficulty Levels become an integral part of your regular Player Profile. This means the game will finally recognize and track your mastery across different challenge settings. This offers a clearer sense of long term Soulink mastery while keeping each run aligned with the way you want to play. 🗡️🃏

Our team continues to refine and expand other upcoming features in parallel, and development on Multi-stage events is also progressing in the meantime. If you missed the short explanation in our previous post, be sure to check it out here. 👈

🎃 Hey there Inkborns! How are your preparations for the upcoming spooky Halloween night? Just for the occasion, we’re bringing another feature from the Roadmap! 📜 With today’s update, when you cross the Chronicle threshold, fate will split in two: there’s now a 50% chance to receive traditional Curse cards, and a 50% chance to encounter a Cursed quote - a dangerous fragment of the Chronicles, empowered by the greatest of literature. 🩸



Cursed quotes work much like regular quotes, but they carry a heavy price. When you receive one, you must equip it, even if it replaces a positive quote you were holding onto. You can remove it later by overwriting it with a new positive quote. But beware, doing so will awaken its bound Curse card, ready to haunt your deck. You can try to seize it, or you can turn away, but either way, the Chronicles are written endlessly. 💭

We’re back with the second update of our Inkborn roadmap, continuing to expand the world of words and paper with the next features we’re working on:
[h3]🩸 Chronicle Curses (Cursed quotes)[/h3]
A new twist on the curse system is coming. When you cross the Chronicle threshold, there’ll be a 50% chance of receiving Curse cards and a 50% chance of receiving a Cursed quote - a tempting source of power that always comes with a cost.

Cursed quotes work just like regular quotes, except… more challenging. When you receive one, you must equip it, even if it means losing a positive quote in the process. You can overwrite a Cursed quote later with a positive again, but beware: each Cursed quote has a Curse card linked to it, which you’ll receive if you decide to break free. 🃏

A new series of evolving random encounters shaped by your choices. Each decision you make will influence not only the outcome of the current event but may also echo through future Acts, altering characters and rewards. 💫

We’ve officially locked Act 3 into our release calendar and it’s scheduled to go live in late November. We’ll share the exact date soon, but you can already start preparing to face what awaits beyond the ink. 🔏



Alongside this announcement, we’ve pushed a new hotfix (build 0.3.5) with a few quality improvements:

• Fixed tooltip behavior (no more flickering at the start of a round or during enemy attacks).
  
• Revamped Shop animations.

The Book of Thoughts grows heavier in my satchel. Its pages no longer hold mere fragments of memory. Now, as I sit upon a rock and sketch the world before me, its creatures take shape on the page: wolves, ghosts, and beasts unknown, all captured and preserved in our minds.

Hey Inkborns, we’ve expanded the Book of Thoughts with Bestiary. From now on, every time you eliminate a new enemy type for the very first time, it will be added to the new section. Each entry becomes a permanent record where you can:

• See how many times you’ve slain that specific foe.
  
• Track your metaprogression toward rewards tied to enemy kill thresholds.
  
• Unlock lore, notes, and details written in the perspective of the mysterious author.

The Bestiary is more than just a ledger, it’s a new layer of metaprogression. Every enemy you defeat contributes to your long-term growth. For standard enemies, repeated kills will cause them to drop increasingly stronger Ideas, ensuring that every encounter remains valuable. With Elites and Bosses, slaying them enough times unlocks entirely new rare Ideas that can be discovered in future runs. Upon reaching certain kill counts, the Book grants you permanent rewards and entries associated with creatures.

Each rival hides a unique move or trait. Once you’ve defeated them enough times, you’ll unlock a special note. Wolves for instance, they eventually reveal their ability to Call the Pack, summoning allies to overwhelm you. These insights also give you a clearer picture of what to expect when you face them again.

Hello there, Inkborns! ✒️ Alongside important fixes, we’ve added a “What’s New” section right inside the game. This way, you can easily keep track of all changes and features as soon as they land.



While we’re hard at work bringing you the exciting content promised in our Roadmap, we also want to make sure your playthroughs stay comfortable and enjoyable. That means continuing to squash bugs, polish systems, and respond to the issues you’ve reported. Here’s what you can find in the Early Access 0.3.3 build:
[h3]✨ Quality of Life & Fixes 🐛[/h3]

• You’ll now see a list of changes the first time you open the app after updating. You can also view this list anytime from the main menu.
  
• The Fear now has a proper death animation. The Anger already had one, and we felt bad for the poor old lady.
  
• Adding a card to your deck from a map event now comes with a visual effect.
  
• The red artifact no longer lingers on screen after combat.
  
• Using the Book Gate event should no longer cause incorrect camera angles when teleporting into combat.
  
• Resolved an issue where some events could repeat incorrectly.

Make sure to update Inkborn and keep an eye on our future news, as we already have more content in the pipeline and we’ll do our best to bring it to you and keep the game evolving, card by card. 🃏
