Patch 1.6.7 Release Notes

Performance and Stability Changes in this release
• [p]To improve performance on Dedicated Servers we increased worker CPU threads from 1 to 4 by default. This should decrease loading times, to about 75% of time before, and in a smaller way speed up other tasks that game can do in parallel like pathfinding. [/p]
• [p]If you are running DS locally, you will likely want to use the full 4 worker threads when needed. You can adjust this number by providing a command line argument to MoriaServer.exe, "-NumServerWorkerThreads=4". Range is from 1 to 4, although actual number could be lower than 4 if your CPU has less threads available. [/p]
• [p]Note: Third party hosting services will provide their own value, or leave default, so please contact your provider to learn more about their solution.[/p]
• [p]Fixed a bug that was spawning multiples of the placeholder “citizen Dwarf” and reducing performance throughout the game[/p]
• [p]Improved an issue with the voxel engine that led to low framerate, lag spikes and high loading times for clients joining old or “mined-out” world areas. [/p]
• [p]Fixed an issue that caused a lag spike when equipping an item[/p]
• [p]Fixed a bug where loading into a new area could have resulted in very long waiting times. This was most commonly seen when playing on Dedicated Server and teleporting into a distant new location with a mapstone.[/p]
• [p]Firing arrows no longer triggers the navmesh to rebuild, improving lag spikes and FPS.[/p]
• [p]Several improvements that should reduce the instances of long loading walls and long loading times[/p]
• [p]A package of improvements to performance for very large “megabases”[/p]
• [p]Removed several log spams that could happen due to data corruption or in special cases, which could decrease performance.[/p]
• [p]Fixed various crashes.[/p]
[p]
[/p]
User Experience and Tuning Changes in this release
• [p]Fixed an issue that was erroneously showing the “Buy Durin’s Folk” message every time the player launched the game or visited the main menu. It should now only appear a few times then never again.[/p]
• [p]The notification that an Earthquake occurred no longer appears after returning from every expedition.[/p]
• [p]Fixed several scenarios where players could get stuck in story Expeditions.[/p]
• [p]Fixed instances where Vror would not appear in story Expeditions.[/p]
• [p]Fixed several scenarios where players would fall through the world after returning from an expedition[/p]
• [p]Fixed an issue where some clients would see the names of all locations repeatedly, when entering a new area.[/p]
• [p]Package of tuning updates to the cost and payoff for traders has been delivered, to reduce the overall grind of trade goods and the trading economy[/p]
• [p]Trade Order recipes now stay unlocked once discovered[/p]
• [p]The new tribe of Orc that appears during the expansion will no longer appear during sieges and hordes after the completion of the story. They are still available in the highest difficulty of Expeditions.[/p]
• [p]Fixed a rare issue where getting knocked back in the base game’s final boss fight would deactivate some controls.[/p]
• [p]Fixed remaining issues where the Expansion’s boss would appear untextured.[/p]
• [p]Lord of Moria Banner and Moria Company Shield are now available in Sandbox[/p]
[p]
[/p]
NPC-related Changes in this release
• [p]Work to improve several instances where NPCs were getting stuck[/p]
• [p]Fixed an issue that was limiting what Salvager would collect to an extremely limited set of items. Salvagers should now collect most things on the ground.[/p]
• [p]Fixed several instances of NPCs disappearing from a delving[/p]
• [p]Improved cases of enemies being able to walk through walls and closed doors[/p]
• [p]Fixed several issues that left the Cook and Brewmaster NPCs idle when they should be working[/p]
• [p]Decreased the amount of materials needed for crafting NPC hats and outfits[/p]
• [p]Improved the radius that Miners use to find ore[/p]
• [p]Fixed an issue where NPCs will craft using materials from pallets and other locations they should not have access to[/p]
• [p]Fixed an issue where Salvagers would duplicate materials they collected[/p]

Hotfix 1.6.6 - Release Notes

[p]This small patch is meant to address high severity issues as reported by the community. While we understand there are more issues than this patch fixes, we wanted to get something out before the holiday as fast as possible. [/p][p]Ensure you have the correct build number on the main menu. You must complete the update before playing.
Steam: 1.6.5.218041 \[net.18.10.8.8ba6da] to 1.6.6.218163 \[net.18.10.8.8ba6da][/p][p]Dedicated Servers: 1.6.5.218038 \[net.18.10.8.8ba6da] to 1.6.6.218164 \[net.18.10.8.8ba6da]
[/p]
Fixes in this release
• [p]Fixed an issue where duplicate NPC dwarves would appear in their original spawn location in the world after being dismissed from a delving. This would cause several issues including performance problems and unusable NPC recruits [/p]
• [p]Improved various performance issues that caused framerates to be low in many instances caused by duplicate citizen dwarves[/p]
• [p]Improved issues that caused loading walls between areas to persist for long periods of time[/p]
• [p]Fixed an issue where using a mapstone to fast travel would sometimes cause long loading times[/p]
• [p]Fixed a PS5 issue where Gulrun’s textures wouldn’t properly load, causing the beast to appear white, and devoid of color[/p]
[p]Note: In order to improve the performance drops seen in the last release, we made a difficult decision to roll back some of the improvements to NPC pathing. This means players will again see some previously fixed issues with NPC’s choice of path or falling through floors. We believe these will still be more rare than before but the trade off was the right decision.[/p][p]Dedicated Server users, please remember to always restart your server after a patch!

Thank you to everyone who submitted tickets, logs and saves as well as answered the team's Qs about your experiences with the above issues. Please keep an eye on the dev-updates channel in our Discord for any further information from the Team.[/p]

• [p]Steam:[/p]
[p]1.6.4.217573 \[net.16.9.8.a9fb8f] to 1.6.5.218011 \[net.18.10.8.8ba6da][/p]
• [p]Dedicated Servers:[/p]
[p]1.6.4.217315 \[net.16.9.8.a9fb8f] to 1.6.5.218038 \[net.18.10.8.8ba6da][/p][p][/p][p]Release notes can be found on our website here[/p][p]And will be cross posted to the 📜release-notes channel of our discord shortly.[/p][p]Important note with regards to NPC bug fixes: In some cases where NPCs are stuck, lost or not behaving as intended: if the NPC remains in that state after the patch then you may need to first withdraw them from your Delving and then bring them back. This is to ensure that any fix will apply to them.[/p]
