SNØ: Ultimate Freeriding News

We have fixed some issues with the new chair lift system. The problem seems to be gone (shout out and big thanks to @wunderwood157 on our Discord for helping us out with real world testing), and chair lifts can now be used safely again.

We received feedback reporting issues with the new chair lift system causing instant death and score bugs. We saw it necessary to disable them while we figure out the problem.

A couple of you have reported lag and glitches far down in the mountains of SNØ.

The issues are most likely caused by numbers getting too big for the game engine. The further you move away from the mountain top the bigger your positional [x,y,z] coordinates get. To be honest we thought everyone would crash before this became a problem. We clearly underestimated your skill and dedication 😅

To avoid reworking our entire world generation logic, we instead solved the issue by offering a simple way out of glitchy territory.

Here are the features that are new in SNØ 1.0.04.11

Additions

• 🚠 Chair lifts that teleport you back to the top of the mountain. Expect them to appear after about 5000 m
  
• 🌟 New permanent 25 % bonus multiplier per chair lift ride*
  
• 🏔️ Terrain generation gets slightly more extreme with every chair lift
  

*Chair lift bonus multiplier is added to rabbit bonus multiplier before being applied to incoming points

Changes

• 🐇 Rabbit bonus multiplier decrease 10% faster than before
  
• ✨ Bonus multiplier reward sound pitched slightly higher
  

Bugfixes

• 🌾 Fixed issue where grass tufts failed to despawn, potentially causing performance issues.

• [p]🔒 Lock selected skin - Keep wearing your currently selecting skin, even when you unlock new ones. This new setting can be found in the options menu.[/p]

• [p]🐇 Ignore owned skins - When catching a rabbit containing a skin you already have in your wardrobe, it will not be applied. Only first time unlocked skins will be auto applied.[/p]
• [p]🐦 Separate bird skins - The special bird skin variants are now saved as separate skins, instead of overwriting the original[/p]
• [p]🚮 Delete skin UI bugfix - Fixed a bug where no button was selected after deleting a skin, forcing the player to exit the wardrobe to delete the next one. Now, after deleting a skin, the "delete skin" button is correctly selected ready to be clicked again[/p]
