  • [p]Sea shanties are old sailors’ work songs, sung to keep rhythm during tough tasks like hauling ropes or hoisting sails. Led by a shantyman, crews would join in with strong, simple choruses to turn hard labor into something almost musical. With tales of the sea, lost loves, and far-off ports, these songs kept spirits high and hands moving - salt-soaked teamwork, set to a beat.[/p]
• [p]How would I know if my submission is correct?[/p]
  • [p]The minimum submission type for the event are the lyrics to your shanty. It doesn't need to be very long - just enough to make a lively, sea shanty tune out of it.[/p]
