ANGST Is Now Steam Deck Verified

Whether you’re exploring the Hollow at home or surviving on the go, ANGST is now fully optimized for Valve’s handheld device.[/p][p]From day one, we wanted ANGST to feel immersive and comfortable across different playstyles and platforms. New Update: Difficulty Selection & Combat Improvements

[p][/p][p][/p][p]Dear Community![/p][p][/p][p]It is our great honor to present this new update for ANGST: A TALE OF SURVIVAL. Below is a list of what’s included:[/p][p][/p][h3]Improvements:[/h3]
  • [p]Added a health bar above enemies so you can better track how much damage you’ve dealt.[/p]
  • [p]Added an option to select your preferred difficulty level:[/p]
[p]Story – Survival needs and combat are less demanding. Recommended for players looking for a more casual, narrative-focused experience.[/p][p]Normal – A balanced level of survival and combat. Choose this for the intended, well-rounded experience.[/p][p]Survivalist – A more demanding mode where hunger, temperature, and energy loss have a stronger impact as you travel through the Hollow.[/p][p][/p][p]Please note: the difficulty level can be adjusted at any time during gameplay.[/p]
  • [p]Increased the size of selected interface elements (mainly text) throughout the game for improved readability, especially when playing on Steam Deck.[/p]
[h3]Bug Fixes:[/h3]
  • [p]Fixed a long-standing bug causing the protagonist to get stuck while mining iron in caves.[/p]
  • [p]The She Wolf’s Fang and the Orb of Sorrow will no longer respawn if they have already been obtained earlier.[/p]
  • [p]Stove fire sound effects are now correctly affected by the SFX volume setting.[/p]
  • [p]Fixed an issue where Animal Traps behaved incorrectly after player death.[/p]

New Game Update is here!

[p][/p][p][/p][p]Dear Community![/p][p][/p][p]ANGST: A TALE OF SURVIVAL is one week old! As stated in our last community post, after a few quick fixes we managed to deploy earlier this week, we continued to engage with you across all communication channels, reading every report, idea, and piece of feedback you shared. [/p][p]Today, we present the next update we've been crafting for you (as seen in the picture above), including several changes you requested:[/p][p][/p][h3]New language: [/h3][h3]ANGST: A TALE OF SURVIVAL can now be played in Turkish![/h3][h3]Hoş geldiniz, dostlar! [/h3][p][/p][h3]Improvements:[/h3]
  • [p]Added a new meal: Berry Mushroom Skewer. Cook berries mixed with mushrooms for a reasonably nutritious food option available without wolf or rabbit meat.[/p]
  • [p]When setting up the time to rest, added shortcuts for keyboard and mouse users — you can now adjust rest time with the A/D keys.[/p]
  • [p]Using the shortcut button of an empty belt slot will now holsters your currently equipped weapon/tool into that slot - especially useful when holding a torch and wanting to quickly holster it to preserve durability.[/p]
  • [p]Enemies will now reset their positions after player death or when entering an interior. No more camping over your backpack or waiting outside the door.[/p]
  • [p]Tools and weapons can now be picked up directly into the 'equipped' slot when no empty slot is available in the backpack or belt.[/p]
  • [p]Added a “sort” option that arranges items in your backpack by type. (Stack splitting will follow later - we hear you!)[/p]
  • [p]Added an indicator showing the number of items you are currently dragging when managing backpack and storages.[/p]
  • [p]Added a button directing to the Guides section in the Steam Community hub. We will be adding content there, so the guide is under active development.[dynamiclink][/dynamiclink][/p]
[p]We are also looking into improving the combat aspect of the game (including enemy AI), but this area is significantly more development-heavy, and we need additional time to deliver something truly meaningful.[/p][p][/p][h3]Balancing adjustments:[/h3]
  • [p]Reduced the damage wolves deal to the player[/p]
  • [p]Balanced warmth values of findable clothing against fur clothing (Fur clothes are now the best protection against cold, with the trade-off that findable clothes offer additional perks)[/p]
[p][/p][h3]Bug Fixes:[/h3]
  • [p]Increased text size for improved readability[/p]
  • [p]Fixed missing ambient SFX for Campfires/Stoves[/p]
  • [p]Fixed a bug preventing the placement of more than 10 Animal Traps, as well as an issue causing traps to occasionally disappear visually[/p]
  • [p]Fixed a bug where pressing two shortcut buttons for the belt inventory caused one of the items to disappear[/p]
  • [p]Fixed a couple type-o's in translations.[/p]
  • [p]Many minor fixes we won’t list here to spare you the boredom :)[/p]

We are overwhelmed by all the positive reactions, and we are also taking note of every issue that has been reported! [/p][p]We are committed to delivering the best possible quality, and the reviews reflect that we’ve succeeded so far: we just hit 50 reviews, and they are classified as “Very Positive”. This makes us incredibly proud and gives us even more energy to continue our journey of making ANGST even better. Thank you all![/p][p][/p][h3]Update on what we are up to[/h3][p]We are currently preparing the next version of the game coming later this week, which will include many adjustments, fixes, and polish based on the feedback you’ve shared with us. [/p][p]Once these immediate improvements are completed, we will sit down to prepare an outlook on where we plan to take ANGST: A TALE OF SURVIVAL in the near future… whether that means new game modes, major improvements such as enhanced combat handling or enemies' behaviour, or also something else... we are listening![/p][p][/p][p]Stay tuned![/p]
