Beta Phase 1 Roadmap

The two biggest things we didn't get to are visual effects and sound effects. Hopefully we can find some talented people for these jobs in the new year! While I did rewrite chat to have infinite scrolling, I didn't add tabs or any other features yet so that will be what I start with in January. As for Gem items, just assume there will be a wide variety of them sprinkled throughout this phase as I'm not going to put anything specific on the roadmap this time. Oh and we didn't get to Crablantis yet as instead we got two whole seasonal zones in the form of Haunted Forest and Holiday Isle! Alpha Phase 3 was very busy. Let's see how Beta 1 will look. Also, just assume bug fixes and optimization to be happening all the time.

Patch Notes #84 - The Craftening

THE CRAFTENING
Hey again everyone! Dino here with another huge content update! We all know you're super excited about Rebirth and Frozen North! Don't worry, that's coming soon! Before we can get to Rebirth and FN why don't we give you all a little more power? With today's patch we're introducing a lot and I really do mean A LOT of crafting. So much crafting I have dubbed this update The Craftening! Let's dive into what you can find with the newest patch.

EMERALD CRAFTING
Time to start those crafts for obtaining your Tier 3 gear! Head to Forgotten Under Underground and find Sigurd and the Emerald Crafter. They'll help you craft those emeralds into high tier emeralds and Starforged gear.





TIER 3 ARMOR
Tier 3 armor has also made its way to the Forgotten Under Underground. Get those tier 2 sets ready for an upgrade and harness the power of the ancients. Wait, are those shoulder items?! Yes, they are! You can find the new Ancient Shoulder Blueprint being sold by the shopkeep in FUU.





TIER 3 WEAPONS
What is a cool new armor set without a new weapon to destroy things with? To craft these beauties you'll need to head to Mirky Woods. The weaponsmith will be hanging around the elf camp ready to upgrade those tier weapons to their next level!




CELESTIAL GEM CRAFTING
You may have noticed that your Tier 3 armor has a new edition! Tier 3 comes with brand new tier shoulder items. However, they require mega and uber celestials?!? Not to worry, head to Mirky Woods and make your way to the Badger camp to find a wise old Badger. He has the knowhow to merge the unknown power of your celestial gems into higher rarities.





TIER 2 BOOKS AND RINGS
If the armor, weapons and gem crafting wasn't enough then I have one more trick up my sleeve. Tier 2 Books and Rings has also come to Forgotten Under Underground. These crafters are a little farther down into the cave but will be ready to upgrade those Tier 1 Books and Rings into something stronger and hopefully take your build to the next level!



EVENT REMINDERS

Holiday Isle and the Christmas 2024 Event leave January 29th! Your Holiday Isle Teleport skill will just teleport you to Mirabella Cove until the event returns. You will not need to buy the Key for Gems again!

Of course there's mo... wait.. that's actually it! I got a little carried away with this update but of course wouldn't have been able to do it without some help. Shout out to Moriarty for his hard work remaking some classics with the tier armor and Dark for his help keeping me on track lol. * Cleaned up some of the shop code.

* In the shop when you click the buy button, the space in your inventory is now preset with the item. It then waits for the server to confirm. This makes buying look faster and it gets rid of fast clicking bugs.

* Removed flicker from shop window when clicking the buy button.

* Fixed the bug when you're looting really fast and one or more of the items never show up in your bags.

* Fixed Market recently sold for as it wasn't updating properly.

* Fixed some flickering in the Collector.

* Fixed the shop sells for tooltip text to says Gems when it should be Gems.

* Fixed right click in bank tab #2.

* Music now auto plays on Steam. Electron can turn off the chrome auto-play policy!

* Loading the actual game code is now faster on Steam.

* Delivered new executables to Steam.

* Turned on Steam version window menu to allow for copy paste.

* Fixed a bug on Steam where you get a black screen after you click Play and the game client code has just been updated.

* Restricted movement to left mouse button only.

* Spent a bunch of time trying to fix mouse right clicks in the Steam version only to find out it's a bug in Electron ahhhh https://github.com/electron/electron/issues/44887

* Fix Steam right click by installing ElectronJS 33.3.0 and made another steam release.

* Fixed Settings tooltip. Settings doesn't have a shortcut key.

* Added Music Volume to Settings window.

Few Visual Effects & No Sound Effects

While we currently have beautiful visuals and amazing music, we don't have many visual effects yet. In 2025 we plan to enhance combat, menus, and other actions with extra pixely visual effects that will have sound effects attached to them. Until then, enjoy the authentic Fantasy Online experience as the original had no sound effects and very few visual effects as well!

What's included with Early Access?

Hello!
Soon, Fantasy Online 2 will be releasing into Early Access on Steam. I thought I might as well put together all list of everything available day 1, so here we go!

14 Zones are in the game at this point. One is an admin zone, and two are seasonal so, you'll have access to 11 zones at launch.

Zones include many many different things, here's a short rundown.


A wide variety of mobs.


Hundreds of quests.


Hundreds of shops.


Lots of skills.


Character customization, a bestiary, vanity outfits, and factions with notoriety.


The Collector stores one of most items.


Lots of achievements.


Guilds with guild chat and guild items.


Hundreds of items to craft.


Player Market where you can buy and sell between players.

Steam Inventory integration so you can transfer items to and from the game. Steam Community Market is enabled for most items.

All Steam characters start with 100 Gems which is our virtual currency. Gems can be used to purchase vanity outfit items, more bank space, and a few other things.

There is more of course, but this just gives a nice overview of the main meat of the game!
