Devlog 2: Demo is Coming

[p]For those curious about how the game will look, we’ll include links to our social media. There you can always find and download the most up-to-date versions of the game with all fixes and updates.

All this time we’ve been actively preparing the demo version for Next Fest, which will take place on October 13th, and a lot of work has been done. Unfortunately, not all mechanics we’d like to show you in the demo will make it in time, but they will definitely appear later.[/p][p]Now let’s talk about the story setup, the world, and the mechanics we plan to include in the demo release.[/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]The world stands at the crossroads of steampunk and classic fantasy, but with a few twists. The main one is that beings from any planes and realities can enter it. Because of this, the heroine will encounter both original and recognizable characters.[/p][p][/p][p] [/p][p]
Take Rena, for example. She was cleaning up an old cottage inherited from her grandmother when she managed to fall right into a witch’s cauldron––which then transported her into an unknown world. So she had to revive the business of the previous owner: earning a living by selling potions, helping the locals, and lending a hand to otherworldly visitors. And then comes the choice: should she look for a way home while turning the heads of handsome men and lovely ladies along the way, or settle down here? Grab power, play the savior and do-gooder, or side with darker forces. In short, the possibilities are vast––and where Rena ends up is entirely up to you.[/p][p][/p][p] [/p][p]The main events of the demo will take place in the capital city and its surroundings. At first, we planned four locations, but chances are we won’t manage to finish and fill all of them with content in time for the festival. So we’ve focused on two:[/p][p] [/p][p]“The Witch’s Cottage” –– where all the brewing and potion-selling happens, and where visitors’ stories unfold.[/p][p]“The Last Call Tavern” –– where you can relax, hear gossip, and arm wrestle with the local tough guys.[/p][p][/p][p]Potion brewing. Potions drive the story forward, and the direction depends on you. You can play as a wicked witch who tries to harm everyone, or as a kind one giving helpful advice to visitors. But forget about altruism––butturens (the local in-game currency) will always be needed. So don’t give your talent away for free![/p][p][/p][p]Resources and management. The gameplay is designed so you’ll constantly be short on supplies. That means you can’t unlock every story scene on your first playthrough. There are no “right” or “wrong” choices, since every ending will affect the storyline. If you want, you can replay quests multiple times to see every scene with active characters. And rest assured: there will be no shortage of passions, hot content, intrigue, and humorous episodes for everyone![/p][p]Transformations. Your potions don’t just affect the storyline––they also change how characters look. Their appearance depends on you. For example, you can drink your own brews to enlarge or reduce Rena’s breasts, give her something imposing or even grant her animal traits. And all of this will be reflected in the animated hot scenes![/p][p]Mini-Games with hot content. They are optional––you can skip them entirely if you wish. But those who decide to play will be rewarded with unique animations and amusing extras.[/p][p]At first, two mini-games will be available:[/p][p]Trading Game – where you’ll try to jack up the price of your potions (sometimes with rather unexpected and less-than-honest tricks).[/p][p]Arm Wrestling – perfect for those who want to flex some muscle (though a clever witch with the right recipes isn’t likely to lose).
We hope the demo won’t disappoint you. As always, we welcome your feedback and suggestions – with your help, the game will only get better!
