City Builder & Colony Sim Fest starts today!
Well hello, it’s been a while! Chances are, if you’re reading this in the last week of March 2025, you encountered Generation Exile as part of the City Builder & Colony Sim Fest.
When we heard this Fest was a gathering of games about building a thriving community - be it a vibrant city where citizens work together in harmony, or a tense village constantly on the verge of collapse - we knew Generation Exile had found a home amongst friends.
If what you love about city-builders is creating the perfect layout, or if what makes colony sim so exciting for you is seeing a cascading series of unexpected events, know that we’re making Gen Exile because we adore games like this and want to push the direction of the genre even further.
Set aboard a generational starship, departing an Earth whose ecosystems have almost totally collapsed, Gen Exile is a turn-based city-builder where you cannot meet your populace’s needs by ravenously extracting more and more natural resources. Instead, you must not only survive but learn how to thrive using only what has been brought with you. Procedurally generated characters and storylines mean that every journey — spanning several hundred years — will be uniquely yours.
Over the past few months, our team has been quiet because we've been busy focusing on our pre-flight checks - final riveting on the starship hull, life support and navigation systems checks, loading the gear and supplies. But seriously, we’ve been working our metaphorical butts off making sure Gen Exile is in amazing shape, and we’re looking forward to being able to share more with you all very very soon.
