Murky Divers News

⚙️ Murky 1.0 patch notes 🔧

Attention recruits,

Our intelligence department has observed that some divers have been encountering issues since the 1.,0 release. Rolling out significant updates is always a complex process, and while we pride ourselves on having a top-tier testing department, even the best teams can occasionally miss something.

Rest assured, we’ve been diligently working to address these challenges and improve the experience for everyone.
Fixes
• Crashes: We fixed an error that could occur in random cases after a few minutes when players share data with others, causing a crash
 • Unable to play the big submarine: the number of players for a game was picked from the last game configuration instead of picking the default player number from the chosen sub
 • Fixed navigation on controllers/Steamdeck on host and server customization screen
 • Fixed the wanted star display that could show 5* instead of 6* when destroying the lab, making the crew lose as the display didn't show it
 • Fixed some enemies (mimic + gobbler) that could spit a player into a wall after their attack
 • The mimic voice now uses the same setting as the players' voice level

If you’ve encountered any of these issues during your dive, we extend our sincerest apologies. Should these troubles have led you to file a less-than-stellar report on Murky, we understand—it’s part of the mission debrief.

However, as the waters clear and the improvements surface, we’d be deeply grateful if you’d consider updating your log with a positive report. Your feedback keeps the mission afloat!

All the best,
Pharma Corps Management

🚨 MURKY DIVERS 1.0 | OUT NOW🚨

Attention Recruits,

Today marks an extraordinary day for Pharma Corps. Roughly six months ago, we unveiled Murky Divers to the world—a call for brave divers.

After a few... let's call them unsuccessful experiments, the ocean became a bit of a liability. We needed elite divers to clean up our mess, discretely remove evidence, and, most importantly, ensure that none of our little “accidents” were discovered by the authorities. Your bravery, skill, and discretion have been invaluable.

With the success we’ve been seeing, Pharma Corps knew it was time to escalate operations. Early Access was merely a test run—a controlled experiment. Now, the real work begins, and the stakes have never been higher. Welcome to the 1.0.

NEW Game Content

Murky Divers has received a wealth of feedback and suggestions during Early Access, and we’ve taken it all to heart. Here at Pharma Corps, we pride ourselves on listening to our team, which is why we’ve been nominated for Best Employer (in the “Underwater, Shady Experimentation” category) for 10 consecutive years. Your input has been instrumental in refining our operations—after all, a successful mission is built on collaboration.
Fully Customizable Servers
Infinite possibilities await beneath the waves. We’re thrilled to announce fully customizable server options for those who demand complete control over their dives. Tailor your Murky Divers experience to your exact preferences—from a lighter, more relaxed approach to the most extreme, hardcore challenges the ocean has to offer.

By default, settings are locked on Normal, letting you jump straight into the action by simply clicking "Confirm," just like before. But for those seeking something truly unique, the ocean is yours to command. Dive your way.

Just want to hop in and play? We’ve got you covered with three handy presets—Easy, Normal, and Hard.

Each preset includes a brief description of what to expect, making it easy to find the right challenge level. If you want something more tailored, you can either start with a preset and tweak the settings or dive straight into Custom mode. The choice is yours!
Improved Hosting
We’ve made significant upgrades to enhance the flow and clarity of the host menus, ensuring a smoother experience for divers setting up their adventures. Let’s dive into what’s new:

Hosting a game is now streamlined into clear, intuitive steps:
 1. Choose your save file and set your game to public or private.

 2. If starting a new save, select your submarine size.

 3. Customize your server settings—or jump right in!
The Laboratories
Pharma Corps’ darkest secret brings Murky Divers back to its essence: the eerie wreckage and haunting depths that started it all. Hidden within a biome reminiscent of the original wrecks lies the Diver Creation Facility, the birthplace of Pharma Corps’ elite divers.

This once-vital site fell to ruin due to the company’s insatiable greed ambition, imprisoning Atlantis’ aliens as mere decorations in executive aquariums. The aliens eventually broke free, unleashing chaos as they took control of the divers in production, slaughtered the staff, and transformed into the sinister copycat creatures now lurking in the shadows.

Pharma Corps anticipated that some secrets might prove too dangerous to contain. To safeguard the integrity of its operations, a self-destruct mechanism was installed within the Diver Creation Facility—a last-resort measure to erase all evidence should the unimaginable occur.

Some say this is Pharma Corps' scariest biome so far.
New Creature: The Copy Cat
Introducing a new threat lurking in the depths—something that mirrors you, yet isn’t quite right. At first glance, it seems like just another diver, but appearances can be deceiving. This creature has a way of blending in, mimicking players with unsettling precision. It moves like you, acts like you, and even sounds like you. But something is off. What happens when you get too close?

Stay alert, trust nothing, and remember: not everything in the deep is what it seems.

Disclaimer: Do not be alarmed when you hear your voice. This was made possible with a custom tool that detects and records player voices and replicates them using an AI-generated voice. No data is stored beyond game sessions. All data is deleted when leaving the game.
New Creature: The Baby Puker
There’s a strange creature that only appears in the tunnels—seemingly harmless at first, almost... cute. But don’t be fooled. Get too close, and you’ll find out just how dangerous it can be.

Just be careful where you step, especially when you're with friends. The tunnels have a way of hiding their true threats.
New Outfits
At Pharma Corps, we believe in empowering our divers to choose their own style and approach to every mission.
 • Diver Scientist: Step into the role of a Pharma Corps elite with this sleek suit, complete with a custom emote. Perfect for those who want to embody the corporate spirit while exploring the depths on behalf of the company.
 • Cleaner: As part of our ongoing commitment to environmental stewardship, the Cleaner suit is built for those tasked with keeping the ocean free of debris. Whether you're collecting waste or maintaining order, this suit ensures you're always prepared for the job.
 • Pharma Claus: In the spirit of seasonal generosity (and corporate goodwill), the Santa Claus suit is available for a limited time. Perfect for bringing some holiday cheer to your underwater missions, this suit ensures you’re always ready to spread Pharma Corps-approved festive spirit.
Holiday Festivities - It's Christmas!
This Christmas, Pharma Corps is bringing some holiday cheer to the depths! Submarines will be decked out in festive decorations, complete with sparkling lights, tinsel, and snowflakes drifting through the air. The atmosphere will be filled with the warmth and wonder of the season, even as you explore the cold, dark ocean.
FOV Slider
We've added Murky Divers' most requested feature: the FOV slider: Divers are now able to tweak their field of view reducing potential motion sickness.
Improvements
Pharma Corps is continually refining Murky Divers to enhance your experience. Here’s what’s new in the latest update:

 • Black-out Effect: A new black-out effect has been added when you reach 0 oxygen, amplifying the tension and the thrill of managing your resources underwater.
 • QR Code for Discord: Stay connected with the Murky Divers community! We’ve added a QR code in the game's main menu and in all submarines that lets you easily join our Discord and stay up-to-date on the latest news, updates, and discussions.

🚨 Major update 0.9 | Fixes & Balancing

Hi recruits,

Pharma Corps listened to your feedback (we have eyes and ears everywhere),

That is why we are bringing a patch today to improve the balancing of the game and fix the outfit progress bug.
Bribe Donuts
Divers now get more money as batteries are free, that said we heard that Bribe is too expensive. Even though inflation kicked in, we will do our best to lower the price of the Bribe which suffered a lot.

New prices will be :
 • Small submarine for up to 2 divers: 1200 -> 600
 • Regular submarine for up to 4 divers: 1400 -> 750
 • Large submarine for up to 8 divers: 1600 -> 900
Crocsaw
Endless chasing from this monstruosity can be tiring, sometimes at the cost of a few lives even. We are lowering its movement speed. This way it should stay dangerous in close quarters but easier to flee from.
Outfit unlocking progress
We noticed that progress for the new outfits wasn't always saving for players. It will now register properly and we added a save to your progress when you exit the game. Previously this was only at the end of an expedition.
We love your feedback
We are aware that Major Update 0.9 introduced some significant changes to Murky Divers. Even though we test everything internally thoroughly, we attach great value to you feedback! Pharma Corps Human Resource Department welcomes constructive feedback to improve the diving experience. Know that our intelligence department reads every review and forum post.

Happy diving!

Sincerely,
Pharma Corps Management
