Pixeljam's Dino Run 2 Kickstarter Campaign

[p]Hello all,[/p][p][/p][p]Pixeljam has always worked on multiple projects at once, and the thing we've probably spent the most time on is a sequel to our 2008 browser game Dino Run.[/p][p][/p][p]It's pixel art prehistoric multiplayer platformer with world-building tools included to let people create and share their own experiences.[/p][p]We've been either dreaming, planning, or developing for it since 2012 or so. //// GRID RANGER Version 1.0 Is Live \\\\

Hello all,

We're excited to announce that Grid Ranger is officially out of Early Access!

Version 1.0 features:

  • Engine improvements, support for >60Hz monitors (press SHIFT during the initial boot-up screen to fiddle with the controls)
  • Infinite mode: an endless level with ever-increasing speed and difficulty (can be played in Normal or Hardcore)
  • Controller support (still not recommended, but supported now - L and R thumbsticks provide fast/broad and slow/fine-tuned movement, right trigger fires)
  • UI can be traversed with keyboard or controller
  • Autofire toggle now available via menu

We also just launched the Game & Soundtrack Bundle and added one more new track from Infinite Mode.

There have been a few other small QoL features that people have asked for recently that I will look into soon - this is not the 100% end of updates, but it's most likely the end of new major features.

Thanks to everyone for supporting this little coding adventure of mine! This is the first Pixeljam game that I've created from start to finish in a very long time. Huge thanks to Datassette for making the V99 engine as well, which of course this game could not exist without. I've already started on a new vector-styled game and I'm excited to show it off later in the year. It's a very different direction than Pixeljam has ever gone... :)

Take care,

-Miles @ Pixeljam

GRID RANGER Leaves Early Access on March 25th

Hello all,

We're pleased to announce that Grid Ranger will officially reach version 1.0 and leave early access on March 25th, 2025.

The final features include:

  • Infinite mode: an increasingly challenging endless level set to brand new music, available in normal and hardcore difficulties.
  • Autofire toggle: give your finger a rest and easily toggle on/off autofire during gameplay
  • Support for above 60Hz monitors

There is also controller support if you really want to use one, but the game was built around mouse controls and we don't recommend it! :)

Shortly after Grid Ranger's release, we will start teasing some screens from my next endeavor with the V99 engine. We're only just getting started with it....

/ HARCORE MODE ACTIVATED \

Hello all,

The first major update to Grid Ranger is live - version 0.752. Adding:

- Hardcore Mode: toggle this on and off via the title screen options menu. Hardcore mode introduces an extra challenge for seasoned players, and a new color scheme for each level as well.

- Steam Achievements: including a special one for a 1 credit clear! (both in Normal and Hardcore modes)

Next up will be work on an entirely new game mode (Infinite), which should be ready for testing in February.

Starting at 1 PM EST today (Jan 13), the game will be 20% off for the next 2 weeks as well, including the soundtrack.

Also, please consider leaving a review, if you haven't done so yet!

Thanks for the support,

-Miles @ Pixeljam
