Beta testing Twitch integration features

[p]We're currently testing out Twitch integration features on the beta branch. It's an open beta and streamers are encouraged to give it a go![/p][p][/p][p]To access the beta version of Zooika you just need to switch to the beta branch of the game. This community post has instructions on how to do that: Twitch beta branch testing [/p][p][/p][p]We have two different game modes for streamers to try:[/p][p][/p][h3]Chat vs. Streamer[/h3][p]In this mode the streamer plays the game while chat can vote on 'events' to occur within the game, events include things like extra mice, buckets and watermelons! Along with a host of other effects (with more to come!). This is a fun and frantic mode that engages your chat to either help or hinder you (or usually both!)[/p][p][/p][p][/p][h3]Chat Plays[/h3][p]There is also a mode that allows Twitch chat to play the game with no input from the Streamer. This mode can be good as a 'be right back' screen for when a streamer needs to take a break. [/p][p][/p][p][/p][p][/p][h3]Known issues / Bugs[/h3]
  • [p]No testing has been done with a controller, so the UI probably doesn't work well with it yet (Twitch Plays features are disabled for Steam deck).[/p]
  • [p]The restarting of the game in Twitch Plays mode mostly works, but there are some oddities that still need to be fixed.[/p]

  • [p] More effects to vote for in the 'versus' mode.[/p]
  • [p] Incorporation of user profile images and maybe streamer emotes within the game.[/p]

Update notes for Zooika 1.0.3

We've got a few more bug fixes in this update, along with several improvements to the in-game graphics and effects. Here's the details:

  • Fixed issue with ripple effect being offset during dynamic camera zoom
  • Fixed issue where the highest spawned animal would not always be included in the statistics at the end of a game
  • Added additional sound effects to the bucket and mouse
  • Added particle effects to bucket and mouse
  • Added the keyboard shortcut 'Escape' key as an option for the pause menu. Previously this was only activated with 'P'
  • Added hints to the main title screen to let players know about features that might have been missed.
  • Improved visuals on multiplier so that it stands out a bit more
  • Improved visuals and added sounds effects for bonus panels


We're also working on a new feature for a future update: A 'Twitch Plays' mode, which, for streamers, will allow you to run the game on Twitch and let your chat play the game!

Update notes for Zooika 1.0.2

Thanks to all that have been playing the game! It's great to see people enjoying Zooika!

There's been a few, mostly minor issues spotted during its first week of release, and I've tried to address most of them with this patch.

  • Fixed 'explosive force' during merge spawn to stop it from affecting falling animals
  • Mouse pointer no longer reactivates when switching to mouse input whilst within the play area.
  • Fixed target assist setting being ignored, unless it was toggled off and on.
  • Fixed issue where initial selection for custom game was incorrect.
  • Fixed issue where initial selection for leader board display was incorrect.
  • Tried to improve shader caching for initial play through smoothness.
  • Fixed display issue on 'roundish' play area, lid was offset to the left.
  • Fixed display issue where animals stayed in 'blinked' state when blinking was turned off.
