Demo update: Online mode + new map

Hi everyone!

We’ve just released a new version of the Sheepherds demo with some changes. Notably:

 • Online multiplayer is now available! You can create and join lobbies to play remotely with friends.
 • A new map has been added, featuring a fresh gameplay mechanic we’re excited for you to try
 • We have removed Frosty Flockwork and Automn Leaves for the moment
 • We’ve adjusted the overall balancing of the main objectives and the optional challenges for a smoother experience
 • The flocking algorithm has received some polish. Sheep now have a more consistent behavior and handle collisions better. They should also feel more satisfying to herd, tell us what you think!
 • Many bug fixes and general polish
 • As a result of these updates, your progress in the previous demo will be reset to accomodate for the additions and changes to the levels

Let us know what you think, and thanks again for being part of this journey!

Sooooo, Sheepherds... here are some frequently asked questions:
What is this game about?
It’s a co-op game for up to 4 players where you play as shepherd dogs, doing shepherd-y things with your friends. We’re crafting an experience that you can enjoy in a relaxed way or, if you’re up for it, tackle optional challenges for more action.
Who is this game for?
Friends, couples, families—any gamers looking for a collaborative and fun experience without the risk of ruining their relationships. We want you to feel good after playing. That should go without saying, but we’re saying it anyway.
Why dogs and sheep?
We met while working at a French game studio that shut down overnight. We wanted to create a small, feel-good, satisfying game to 'heal' from our sudden unemployment. During a brainstorming session, someone said, 'What if we played as a dog?' and we instantly knew this was the game we had to make. Since then, we've been having an absolute blast.
Will I be able to play solo?
For now, you can, but the game is designed for 2 to 4 players. If playing solo doesn’t feel engaging enough, we might remove that option before launch.
When can I play it?
A free demo is coming very shortly, for the Steam Couch Co-op Fest, starting February 10th. Yes, yes, this is very soon 🤩
Is it PC only?
We are a small team without a publisher, so for now, PC is the only platform we can confidently deliver. We've received many requests for a console release, and while we can't promise anything yet, we would love to make that happen in the future!. We’ll keep you posted!
Does it have an online mode ?
For now, the demo is local co-op only, but you can play remotely via Remote Play Together. We're working hard to launch the full game with both couch co-op and a built-in online multiplayer mode at release. While we can't guarantee it just yet, we really want to make it happen!
What’s next?
We'll be carefully listening to all the feedback from this first demo and using it to shape the game's future. One of the perks of being a small team is our ability to adapt quickly, and we’re committed to making the most of that by staying closely connected with our players.
When will it launch?
Sometime in 2025, for sure :)
How can I follow the development?
The best way to keep in touch and have an impact on the development is to join our Discord server.

We plan to post regular updates about the game’s development there, as well as on Steam, so stick around if you’re curious or want to see more of what we’re working on. Also, stay tuned because we’ll likely launch playtests and other demos in the near future. :)

If you want to support us, please consider wishlisting the game. It helps us a lot by showing how much interest there is and making the game more visible. Positive Steam reviews are also very good, if you find our demo worthy :)

Thank you, and see you soon in Sheepherds! 🐾
