Reasons and Solutions for Failing to Download or Update Games Normally
Recently, some players have reported issues with downloading or updating games to the latest version. We escalated this problem to the Steam platform, and they provided the following official response:

"We've seen other reports about this as well. Looking into it, all the users having this issue have forced Steam to an older version. Unfortunately, older versions of the Steam client will not be able to download new updates, as we've switched compression methods. So if you do see users reporting this, please ask them to update Steam to the latest version."

If you encounter the same issue, as reported by other users, please completely uninstall Steam and reinstall the latest version.
Note: By default, uninstalling Steam will delete all game files. Ensure you back up your game files before proceeding (move all games to another directory before uninstallation, then copy them back after reinstalling Steam).
