Here Comes The Swarm First Devlog!
[p]Hi Champions! We are CableHook Games, the developers and publishers behind the RTS Here Comes The Swarm.[/p][p]
We’ll be working on more of these to keep you updated on the continuing development of Here Comes The Swarm. Thank you for reading and getting to know a bit about us and our game.
[/p][p]
[/p][p][/p]
About Us, CableHook Games
[p]We are a small but mighty team of just four developers working on Here Comes The Swarm. Three coders and one artist, but don’t be fooled, those are just our official titles; we all work together to pitch in wherever needed. All of us wear many, many hats![/p][p]
The four of us have been developing Here Comes The Swarm since our first check-in on March 3rd, 2018, so that’s 7 years in total. Since then, we’ve been working on it alongside our day jobs, mostly evenings and weekends, which probably adds up to around 1–2 years of focused development time.
Wow, how that time has flown by, and now we’re close to finally launching in Early Access. [/p][p][/p]
Behind Here Comes The Swarm
[p]Here Comes The Swarm is an RTS about preparing your forces and fighting off a near-endless Swarm.[/p][p]
We wanted to stand out from many in the genre by adding a pause button, upgrade branches by championing a God, building settlements, or having the ability to lead expeditions to bring the fight to the Swarm itself, for starters.
[/p][p]
[/p][p]Our team was not without our inspirations, however![/p][p]
Everyone at CableHook has a history with RTS games, and two of us can proudly call ourselves RTS veterans. Having spent countless hours playing classics like StarCraft, Warcraft, Command & Conquer, Supreme Commander, the Civilization series, and so many more. [/p][p][/p][p]From those early experiences, the vision for our game started to take shape.
We wanted to combine the best elements from all our favorites: the fast-paced responsiveness of combat and controls in StarCraft, the city-building depth of Anno, and the massive hordes of They Are Billions.[/p][p][/p][p]All of these inspirations (and many more) came together to create Here Comes The Swarm.
[/p]
Here Comes The Swarm 🤝 Gamescom
[p]After so long developing and planning, we are excited to share that we are going to Gamescom, Germany, and bringing with us the first playable demo. You can get a first look at Here Comes The Swarm at our booth or on Steam. [/p][p]
Not only is the demo a big milestone for us on the road to Early Access, but this is also our first time having a booth at a major conference like Gamescom. We are right there in the consumer area, so people can see and even play Here Comes The Swarm firsthand.[/p][p]
[/p][p]We are most excited about seeing players interact with the game, giving you all a glance at the thing we’ve poured so much passion and time into.[/p][p]For ourselves, we’re also looking forward to checking out what other games are currently being developed, not just to see what we’re up against, but mostly to get a glimpse of what we’ll be playing in the years to come.
If you are there, please come by and say hello and check out Here Comes The Swarm for yourself at the Infernozilla Mega Booth: B-032g in Hall 10.1.

With all that said, we’re excited to share that Here Comes The Swarm is planned for Early Access at the end of Q1 2026! We can’t wait for players to finally dive in and experience the Swarm!
We hope you enjoy Gamescom and our demo! From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for the support! [/p][p] - CableHook Games [/p][p]
P.s Fun fact: One of our faces is hidden within the hood of the Arbalist![/p][p]Have feedback? Want to say hi digitally? Join us on our official community Discord.
