10,000 Copies on Launch Day! More Optimizations, Free New CharacterIncoming!

[p]Hello Fellow Adventurers,[/p][p]Within the first 24 hours of its launch yesterday, Wretch: Divine Ascent has sold over 10,000 copies and reached #15 on the Steam Hot Sellers list![/p][p][/p][p]This has completely exceeded our expectations. We are incredibly grateful for your support and love![/p][p]Of course, we are also fully aware that the game still has its share of imperfections and quite a few issues. For instance, unexpected tutorial soft-locks and server instability. While some have already been addressed, we will continue our optimization efforts.[/p][p]Here is a list of frequently mentioned issues we've seen in the community that we are planning to address:[/p]
 1. [p]Game Freezing on Exit: We have identified the root cause of this issue and will release a new update patch later today to fix it.[/p]
 2. [p]Server Stability: Yesterday, we experienced network attacks which led to issues for some players, such as being unable to save the "Tenshou" character. We plan to first improve the experience by modifying the save mechanism, also expected in today's patch.[/p]
 3. [p]Performance Optimization: The game is currently quite demanding on both CPU and GPU. Optimization is a complex, systematic task. Work has begun, but it won't be an overnight process. We kindly ask for your patience.[/p]
 4. [p]Controller and Keyboard Adaptation: We've seen many requests for controller support and additional keyboard shortcuts. This is currently in the design phase and will take some time. It's in the works! (.jpg)[/p]
 5. [p]Steam Deck Compatibility: Due to current performance demands and control scheme limitations, the game is not yet playable on Steam Deck. Adaptation is underway and is closely tied to the performance optimization and control scheme adaptation work.[/p]
 6. [p]UI Issues: Problems such as the overall simplistic UI and dark inventory slots being hard to see will be adjusted step by step. For the dark slots, we're considering adding a corresponding setting for players to adjust themselves. A full UI overhaul is quite labor-intensive and will require more time. We appreciate your understanding.[/p]
 7. [p]DLC Skins Not "Standout" or "Flashy" Enough: This is our first time creating cosmetic items of this nature, and we're still learning the ropes. We apologize that the skin quality did not meet expectations. Thank you so much to everyone who purchased the DLC. We will gradually work on improvements.[/p]
 8. [p]English Localization: Many international players have pointed out that the English text can feel stiff or unnatural. Previously, we relied heavily on machine translation. We will be working with professionals to improve the translation quality and refine the details.[/p]
[p]Please keep an eye on our recent version update announcements. We will notify everyone as soon as patches are uploaded. We hope you will continue to provide us with feedback so we can work together to make the game even better.[/p][p] Finally, as a token of our gratitude, we will be giving the new character "Musketeer" DLC, scheduled for release at the end of this year, to everyone for FREE. All players who have purchased the game will be able to claim it directly.[/p]

Wretch:Divine Ascent FAQ

[p]Dear players,[/p][p]We are the development team behind Wretch: Divine Ascent. It has been ten months since we posted our first video on January 7, and now, the day of the official launch has finally arrived.[/p][p]Starting this January, we began updating the game every 1–2 weeks through closed offline tests, in-person events, limited online beta tests, and large-scale public testing. Gradually, we received valuable feedback and suggestions from many players.[/p][p]As player inquiries grew, we launched weekly developer livestreams every Friday to communicate with the community in real time. Over time, you—the players—have become an integral part of the game's development. It’s fair to say that Wretch: Divine Ascent was built together with you.[/p][p][/p]
About the Launch Status
[p]As a game that has evolved through rapid iteration and player feedback since its early development stages, we do not see the launch as the end of development, but rather a new beginning.[/p][p]You can think of it as an Early Access model or a "game as a service" approach—we will continue to deliver new content.[/p][p]In the future, when the game's content reaches a substantial scale, we may consider adjusting the price, but this will not affect players who have already purchased the game.[/p][p]We already have a relatively clear update plan. Please refer to the roadmap below:[/p][p][/p][p]📅 Update Roadmap[/p][p][/p]
Answers to Some Common Questions
[p]❓ Game crashes during play?[/p][p]We fully acknowledge that the current version still has room for improvement. For instance, based on feedback from the last Steam Next Fest, we’ve already worked on specific optimizations. However, as a team of only three people—with just one programmer—we unfortunately can’t resolve every issue as quickly as we’d like.[/p][p][/p][p]👉 If you encounter crashes or other technical issues, please report them in our official discord server(https://discord.com/invite/UqqacDqShs). We’ll keep optimizing![/p][p][/p][p]❓ The tutorial isn’t clear enough and I’m confused?[/p][p]Our game introduces some fairly complex mechanics. While there is a tutorial level, we know it may not cover everything.[/p][p]As a supplement, you can:[/p]
 1. [p]Join the discord(https://discord.com/invite/UqqacDqShs)—our community members and designers are there to help.[/p]
 2. [p]Check the in-game wiki and guides.[/p]
 3. [p]Watch the advanced beginner’s guide on our YouTube channel: [dynamiclink][/dynamiclink][/p]
[p]❓ Can’t refresh the Trials leaderboard?[/p][p]Leaderboard functionality is influenced by your network condition. If the Trials leaderboard fails to load or display, please check your connection—e.g., whether you’re using a VPN or if you’re connected to the internet.[/p][p]❓ I bought the Deluxe Edition—where are the Artbook and skins?[/p]
 • [p]Artbook: In your Steam Library, right-click the game → ManageBrowse local files → Open the [c]ArtBook[/c] folder.[/p]
 • [p]Skins: Unlocked skins can be found in the Forge section on the main menu. Equip them for the corresponding weapons to use in battle.[/p]
[p]❓ Is Mac supported? Any plans for console versions?[/p][p]The game currently does not support Mac. As for console ports, we will begin exploring those after the PC version is stable and well-received. Our priority remains ensuring a smooth PC experience.[/p][p]We’ve also seen some players asking about a mobile version—that would be a much larger undertaking, and we currently have no plans for it.[/p][p][/p]
A Small Request
[p]Although the game features asynchronous online battles, it is fundamentally a single-player experience. We kindly ask players to refrain from using trainers or mods, as they not only undermine the fun of backpack building and optimizing your loadout but may also affect other players’ experience due to data synchronization with our servers.[/p][p][/p][p]If you encounter opponents in-game with clearly unbalanced stats, please report them to us in the discord channel(https://discord.com/invite/UqqacDqShs)[/p][p][/p][p]Thank you all for your ongoing support! Let’s continue this journey together![/p]
